Any news/developements regarding LCD's vs CRT's?
Are CRT's still the best view for gaming?
Are there any LCD's that come close to CRT's?

The newer lcd monitors are fine for gaming from everything I have read. Although you are still locked in the resolution it is usually pretty high.

I too might be switching to a large lcd soon to remove this huge footprint

LCD screens are getting better as far as ghosting is concerned but they're still not quite as good as the better CRT screens you can get.

But if you wanna know specific LCD brands that are good..well, I can't help ya. I haven't been doing much reading on em since they're still a bit too expensive for my tastes. You could find some good information easily though.

I've done some light serfing on the subject, most of it manufactures bid of products, via tech sites they sponsor.
I like to hear from reg's here & appreciate first hand experience from them.

Part of my quandary is what to do w/old monitor. I know landfills are choking w/these things, I hear container ships haul them off to the far east for stripping of lead & other elements, very toxic!

Newer cards support dual monitors ,why not use the feature if you buy a second one?

Also when you'll buy your next system without a monitor you'll save money.

If the entire "old system" is antiquated (see playz-no-new -gamez) you can donate it to your local school,for tax exemption,not much but it feels good.

I'll keep you posted on a 19" LCD that I'm expecting (game performance-wise),since the price is good,I want to make sure it delivers.
