I am dl'ing this game right now. its available from the PS store for $10. the screenshots look cool, updated next gen, etc, but what I' really itching to try is the online play with leaderboards, etc. there is a free demo for those who are unfamiliar with the capcom classic.

This is NOT the old PSX version. this is a graphically upgraded version with several new variants. The graphics are beautiful, true eye candy...if you like anime style. very colorful, neat particle effects when the gems collapse, awesome backdrops.

the game has been reworked for HD, and it shows. AI is about the same for offline play, but thats ok because you will find lots of competition online.

I downloaded the demo, played a bit, had no clue what I was doing, and deleted it. It did bring me to a realization though: if Capcom were to release an online-enabled Street Fighter (and I don't mean a modern 3D version, I mean the old 2D games) for the PSN, it would be the best thing in the whole damn universe. I would be sooooooo all over that.

It's just the old SF2 with new sprites and backgrounds though.

Yeah but it's online. I don't have people around to play against all the time, so I avoid fighting games because it ends up with me replaying the story mode over and over again, and that's no fun.

So what're they doing with the frames and animation? Will it be 60 FPS?

It'll run at 340 FPS at 1080p. Or at least it should, it's only 2D sprites after all. :p

I gave up on playing with Tashi. That guy just keeps running away.
