F-Zero Scores

F-zero scores from EGM are crap. Is it the game or is it EGM's inability to give good reviews? IGN gives F-zero good scores. What does everyone else think?

The reason F-Zero's score is low in EGM is because the game is super-hard. It's not technically hard to play, it's just that some of the computer controlled vehicles are just about impossible to beat unless you have a perfect race. Story mode is the biggest culprit here.

I was sure that the game wasn't hard--that it was just me needing to hone my skills. But after attempting the same story race 15 times in a row, I now know otherwise. Almost finished the race a few times, only to be defeated at the last possible moment.

Barring the difficulty, though, I am extremely impressed. I suppose the difficulty will help me stay interested. :D

IGN characteristically scores things highly. Sometimes the score is just, sometimes not. In this case, I feel the game earned it.

Some are just able to accept more punishment than others.

Well, any time you saw a younger person get trounced at a game, what's the first thing that generally came out of their mouth?

"this game sucks!"

I just figured EGM was above that kind of thing....
