I was saving my pennies for one anyway, but for this to come along when it did....man, I was lucky. Just to cut a long story short, I've managed to score a Wii in perfect condition, along with Zelda, Resident Evil 4, and Red Steel, for the "I hate you Renzatic" price of $200. Guy at work didn't want it anymore, so he ended up practically giving it to me.

So I'm riding high amongst the brownie hounds once again. All I need is component cables and a working wireless router and I'm set.

Good score, dude! But, no Wii Sports?

Don't forget that there is a LAN adapter for the Wii, if you don't want to get the wireless router.

Wii Sports was included in the deal. I just didn't say anything about it since I assumed it was a given.

I'm thinking I might go with the Wifi adapter. At the very least, it'll be a quick fix til I can get a real router again. And when I do buy one, I won't go with the cheap deal of the day crap again.

I wanted to get my Ps3 online so I just got a Linksys router, which has not exactly been reliable.

When it was jus the DS and Wii I was going online with, that little USB Nintendo router worked flawlessly, and its inexpensive.

I can tell you from firsthand personal intimate experience that certain Linksys routers are flaky as hell. If you luck out and grab a good one, they'll work beautifully for you. But if you happen across a bad one, they'll piss you off to no end.

I've seen one that would disconnect and reconnect itself every 5 minutes if you weren't downloading something. And there was nothing you could do to fix it. That's just....what it did. Like it was some funky ass security feature or something.

Really, considering all the bad luck I've had with wifi routers, I might just go with the USB adapter and call it a day. I'm gonna have to do something soon, because seeing the Wii Store right in front of me, and not being able to play with it, is starting to piss me off.

I've also finally got around to grabbing a component cable. The picture quality is astoundingly better. Running Zelda through the Wii, which supposedly looked exactly the same across both platforms, actually looks alot crisper and more detailed than going through a component equipped Gamecube. Plus using the Wiimote to play is a helluva, helluva, HELLUVA lot more fun. I've been getting into it to the point where it's just not a healthy habit anymore.

And Resident Evil 4? With the Wiimote, the game is almost too easy. I can nail headshots like they're going out of style.

The only bad thing is that these are games I've already played on the Cube. Even though they've had a new lease on life with the neater and more entertaining control scheme, I want something new. Metroid and Mario Galaxy are looking damn nice, but I'm hoping we'll see a DS style deluge of good games in the near future.

Congrats. I think once you get it online you'll have a whole new appreciation for reading news. I dig that feature. I feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report.

Btw, you can get Actraiser for I think... 800 points from the Wii Store. :D No Shadowrun tho :(

I have a Linksys router and never had a problem with it. (Knock on wood).

Hey, I'm using a Linksys wifi router it works perfectly, I've had zero problems with it. I use it to post on this site while lounging in the garden or lazing around in my bed. You can tell when I'm using my PPC to post wirelessly when my posts are astoundingly short.

I ought to get a Wii so I can play RE4 properly. I could never stand playing it on the Cube or the PS2.

I hate you Renz!

I thought RE4 for the GC was an awesome game. But playing it with the Wiimote, it's become one of my favorite games of all time.

To put it in perspective, I was never able to get all the bottlecaps in the shooting range before. But while playing it again on the Wii, I flew through it with no problems. As far as accuracy is concerned, I'm finding the wiimote to be a good match for the old standard mouse and keyboard.

Now there's a selling point for the system and game.

Seriously. If there's one thing Capcom knows how to do it's make a game replayable - with neat collectibles, extras, and grades. That's what they did in The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge - and that's why I put over 40 hours into the game. The figurines in TNBC: OR maybe weren't as cool as the bottle cap thingies in RE4 tho': they didn't have sound. But while I got 99% of them - or maybe I did get them all - I can't remember - in TNBC, I couldn't stand to go for too many of them in RE4... because I thought the aiming was frickin' frustrating.
