I've just witnessed my first night of blatant cheating on XBL in a RTCW session. Soemone with a longer than usual name with colors came in and joined the other team and one of my teammates said that if someone killed him it would lock up their Xbox. I went out on the beach and I saw one of my teammates shoot the guy and as soon as he shot him he froze sitting there and eventually I shot the guy and my Xbox froze in this ugly screen making a horrible noise and my controller vibrating out of control. I turned off the Xbox and took a break and about 4 hours later I was back in the game. I ended up on a busy Beach Invasion server for about an hour then the same guy came in. I warned everyone about him and everyone started dropping like flies, and eventually, I ended up locking up again. I quickly reset my Xbox and went back to the same game and the guy was the only one on...I went to spectator followed by the guy 2 minutes later. He acted brash and arrogant at first and I thought he was some big wig hacker but then he told me he did it ALL with Action Replay. Great...so now Action Replay has polluted Xbox LIVE. I guess I should have known it was coming but at the same time, I figured that with the patches that MS could be releasing for it that something as simple as ACTION REPLAY could be stopped. This is really hurt my faith in the Xbox and if it turns into a jungle like PS2 online is I won't be renuing my LIVE account. Cheating sucks for everyone. RTCW is more full of security holes than it should be but if I'm PAYING for the frikkin service the least I can ask for is a cheat free game and it IS MS the "king of calling home".
Tappy, what will you do, all I ever see you play online is RTCW. Yesterday, in MotoGp2 the lobby was talking about glitchers(cheaters) in the game, and how a lot of the riders with those great rankings were bogus. A guy showed up and in one race glitched like crazy, he was taking out riders, teleporting all over the place, and wound up in first place and lapped everyone in a three lap race. While nobody accused him of cheating, something was definitely up and he left shortly after that.
I don't know why guys do it, Tappy, personally I'd report his gamertag to xboxlive officials and have this asshat permanently booted. He's bad for business and I'm sure MS would have no problem getting rid of a guy like this. Can't you just kick a guy like this off your server. I know in Motogp2, the host can kick guys off.

Oh, just so you know, that one guy whose bike was all over the place wasn't glitching. That, my friend, was due to porn. See, porn is bad for you in more ways than you thought. I'll explain ...
It's actually pretty simple. The guy who was appearing to "glitch" was not glitching. He was sharing his connection with his computer, and was downloading some porn at the same time. Thus, he was exhibiting some major lag (the biggest lag I've ever seen, in fact). That is why his bike was jumping all over the place. However, at the end of the race, his finishing results were put back to what his bike actually finished as ... but still, you guys who finished after him shouldn't have been counted as "+ 1 lap" since he did not actually lap you.
But, later in the night his connection got back to normal levels and he did a few more races (non-lagging) with us before he left. Us talking about the Valencia and Sepang glitches had nothing to do with what happened with him.

First of all, let me just say .... dammit, I hate Action Replay.
Well, let's keep this in perspective. Cheating has been possible on PC gaming for years and years. Thus, we knew (if even only on a near-conscious level) that this would eventually happen. It is kinda shocking to see it happen at first, but rest assured this is not going to ruin Xbox Live for us.
The reason: we have the power to deal with this. We have friend's list and websites by which we can coordinate Leagues and get-togethers with other gamers who we're used to playing with and who don't cheat. We also have the ability to send negative feedback about these cheaters. We also have the ability to exhert negative peer-pressure against cheaters ... i.e. the majority of the Live community will unite against these cheaters and eventually the cheaters will find themselves friendless. Kind-of a "Scarlett Letter" effect, but for a good reason.
In MotoGP 2, most of the organized Leagues will actively ban gamers who glitch. In fact, I've seen some former glitchers reset their scores in MotoGP 2 so they can then run in a League. ThaMaskedGamer and I are part of a league (one that he started) and now we look forward to running in our League every week. We know the guys who run with us are curteous, and don't cheat.
Question, Tappy: are you registered at www.xblgames.com ? That is a great site to meet Live gamers. Most of the guys at that site are against cheating and for fair competition. They now have forums for most of the Live games, and the Wolfenstein forum is pretty active. TheMaskedGamer and I have our TRL league based off that website. Hey, find out who this action-replay cheater is, and then post his name on the xblgames.com site to warn others to avoid him.

You mean worse than hairy palms and calluses, I shudder at the thought of what his xbox controller must look, feel and smell like. Play a round of Motogp2, head to the computer, play whack a mole with the little guy, wipe monitor clean, head back to the xbox, ewwww!!!!

actually, I couldn't boot the guy out of the RTCW game...for some reason, when I went to the voting screen and clicked the guys name, the screen said "client not on server" even though he was. It was some really dumb crap. What I DO like about LIVE is that I still got the guys gamertag even though he was using all kinds of different nick names.

MS's official word...accroding to 18004myxbox (pertaining to RTCW)"this is not a MS 1st party game, NO MS 1st PARTY GAMES WILL HAVE ACTION REAPLY EXPLOITS" then he told me to call the devs of RTCW and complain to them, also he gave me some 1800 piracy line.
