View Full Version : Help on Project Eden
Now I remember why I got tired of those Tomb Radier games. Okay, I send the FlyCam up the ventilator shaft from that frozen room, and it comes out through an opening into this room with nothing in it but venitlator shafts and flames. So, there's supposed to be a switch in here or something for the FlyCam to activate, but I've searched every inch of this bleeping room to no avail. I'm going back to Throne of Bhaal.. Anybody remember what to do on this one, let me know (swallows pride).

You're right, you aren't a good Christian.. ;) :p I seem to remember that part as well. I seem remember you have to walk your Metal encased teammate through the flames to open to door or something like that... However, I also seem to remember a couple switches being in areas that I never expected, like inside the room in question near the baseboards. Either way... try this... http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/project_eden.txt
Yeah, I saw that faq. He describes the vent to a 't', and says when the flycam comes out of the hole in the vent, you're in a room you saw but couldn't get to before (uh, no, windows, no camera, and you can only get there with the flycam. And he says there a switch near a sprinkler (no sprinkler). I've searched this room full of ductwork and one mutated rat from top to bottom again. It's the only place for the flycam to go, so there has to be a switch buried here somewhere. Ugh.
I neglected to have my hacker activate a door, which caused something to fall, which made a ceiling collapse...which opened a hole in the floor for my flycam to go through and flip the blasted switch.

I don't exactly agree with the review, mostly because it leaves a lot of things out, but I also disagree on the graphics. My biggest knock on this game is that it was made by Core, and if you are familiar with the Core games (i.e., Tomb Raider), you know that this game sports the Tomb Raider engine. And we're talking Tomb Raider 2 here, circa 1997. Same block-based graphics, same robotic enemy A.I. This company should be ashamed of itself for not coming up with a new game engine after all these years. On the positive side, level designs I've seen so far are well thought out, and the puzzles are interesting to figure out. Good atmosphere. Some cool gadgets. The flycam is fun. I give it about the same score as SBS.

The puzzles are good for the most part. That's one of the most entertaining aspects of the game actually. That and the team-based objectives/teamwork needed to finish the game. There's nothing better than taking one person, leaving all others behind to do a mission, with only your flashlight as your friend... One of the moodiest levels (and scary) is the level with the Greenhouse... man, the ambience just oozed out of your monitor.
**SPOILER**
To bad the ending was ULTRA laughable...
I've gotten back to it after about a week. I'm down at the Skytram level now. The hospital level was the first real good one with the scary monsters and stuff, and that cool time-slowing gun.

The level of ambience gets better from there on in. As you get lower and lower beneath the city towards the Sumps, it becomes pretty frightening as "things" start becoming a little more mutated and quicker.

Yes, the ending was goofy. It started out cool, but then that cutscene...
Didn't think it was terrible, just silly.
The final boss - didn't even realize he was the boss. Thought he was a preview for the final showdown. I had Minoko out there all by herself, and she took him down easy. I was even using extractor on him, because I thought I should conserve energy cells for the bigger fight to follow. Needless to say, it made the fight last a lot longer, and I ended up with a surplus of energy cells. LOL!
