OK, I know NIntendo's friends list is an abomination, a pain in the ass, a chore. But please do it anyway.
I'm Valis, 8081 3207 1958 4771
I've got Trebor, but that's it. I don't have Pandar, Cuddly, or any other of you VGR Wii owners. I'd like to see your Mii's and be able to Wiimail you, etc, and then, hopefully, if the odd event should occur, like say, an actual Nintendo online game. . . then we'll be all set. Please post your codes, I'll be entering them into my system as soon as I see them, and I hope you'll enter mine.

Godammit. How do I make a Friend Code?
trebor

I might be overly paranoid, but do you fellas think it would be better to PM the system codes to each other, instead of posting them openly?

Whatever works for you guys. I don't really care, since I don't have a cc tied to the system anyways.
So how do I set up that code again?
Cuddly Knife
05-25-2007, 10:43 AM
OK. I think I found it. And there are so many sites online for Wii codes that i think it doesn't matter to give it out in public.
My code: 1756 5343 9764 8829

This is dumb, but really it's probably just my dumbness. I am soooo confused.
So....how do you find your friend code?
...okay, I found out where it is.

Does this code work for the DS too, or is that a separate code?
Cuddly Knife
05-25-2007, 03:03 PM
I think I read that you can have the same code, but I could be/am probably wrong.
About the Wii code, is my name the name that I gave the system? Because that's the only place I saw to put in a name.

Yeah, you're overly paranoid. Even if someone has our friend code, we'd still need to enter theirs. And if someone hacks my Wii, if they actually took the time out of their day, I guess I'd be honored. It's not like the friend code is going to make it any more or less easy to steal my credit card info.
Post your damn code!!!!

So are you gonna post it? So far all we've got is Treb, me, and Cuddly on here. Come on, surely there's some more Wii gamers here at VGR?
And where's Pandar and Renz?
I'll post it. Unfortunately (check the pc board) my computer died yesterday. Until I get a new one (shortly) there is no Internet for me. When I get back online (from home that is) I'll post it.

And where's Pandar and Renz?
Renz keeps buying other things, and has to put off getting a Wii. I've recently bought a Nikon D80 and a couple of lenses. That put my spare money fund well into the hole
But when I do get one, the first thing I'll do is post my friend code here.

Cool. That's a better expenditure anyway. I really enjoyed when you gave us the link to your photography. You had some really quality work. If you have some new stuff, post a link, or PM me a link. I'd love to see what you've been doing recently.
Also, though, one thing I like about the Wii, and its kinda of a goofy thing, is the "Photo Channel." You pull your card out of your camera and put it in the Wii, and there are a few things you can do with the photos, including a slide show. And its interesting, because it randomizes these pans and fades and zooms as it goes through the photos, and there's this hypnotic little nintendo-esque music that plays (but yet not quite old-style nintnedo, but part of this weird cohesive aesthetic all the wii channels have.)
It really is a versatile and interesting little console, and there aren't even the great games yet. BUT, Act Raiser was released this week!

I checked out your Myspace page when you recently brought up photography way off in another thread. Doesn't look like you've added anything recently, so if you've been taking pictures, you better quit holding out.
And in case you don't remember how to get there my flickr site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/matt_renzatic)
I haven't put the new camera through it's paces and done anything really extravagant yet, but I've done the occasional shot here and there. I'm looking for more old buildings to root through for cool shots, but most of the interesting locales are either halfway fallen in, or on private "get shot" property, and thusly not good places to go to at 3AM.

I've just been lazy. I've got some stuff from Manhattan recently that is interesting, and also some cool photos from the central coast of California. A lot of this is either touristy or personal. I haven't gone out on a real hunt for "artsy" photos in awhile, though filtering through the 600 or so pictures I've taken in the last three months, there's some stuff worth posting.
Thing about myspace, I really feel too "old" for it. I kind threw the whole thing together on a lark one day, created myself a "band" posted some of my music, poetry, and photogrpahy, and now mostly just use it as an email account, because everyone I know communicates that way and no longer uses traditional email.
Myspace--it's weird to me, just seems goofy somehow. I guess its this phony sort of "I'm too cool for this fad" thing. I'm anti-social by nature, so it stands to reason, I guess, that I'd be turned off somewhat by this big popular social networking thing.

Me too, I think. I must have Trebor now, because his Mii popped up on the screen along with Gad's, and what appears to be some random woman. One of yours, guys? Also, when I went to Mii Parade, there were two Miis there, one some random blond girl who isn't the one on my main Mii area, and Sylar. Did you guys make these?
Do we have a Mii thread?

Yeah. Wife swapping. The blond is mine.
I saw Trebor's wedding pictures, and his wife's Mii looks like her too. My wife's Mii looks exactly like her. And Treb, he looks a lot like his Mii.
Cuddly, how close would you say you nailed yourself with your Mii?

Except for the constant smirk, that's me. Even still, I usually am doing some kind of half-smile, because it's all so funny, even when it's sad.
Btw, Pink is my favorite color. Just in case you're wondering about the shirt.

We made some Heroes' Miis, so the Sylar is probably the one that we made.
Yeah, and the Trebor Mii does look a LOT like me - you guys would probably be able to recognize me in person based off of that.

I take pictures of whatever strikes my fancy at the time. Though that one ghost hunt was a particularly cool experience.
So where the hell are everyones Miis at? And why is it that out of all the friends I've added, only Trebor shows up in my mailing list? I might've shown up late to the party, but I still demand some sociability here!

This is probably old news to most but I wish MP3 had online multiplayer. All the friend codes started flying and I thought for a sec some MP3 online matches were about to commence until I realized it's a 1up only affair.
Should be a great single player game however and I'm looking forward to playing it.

Not much, for now other than the Mii things and messaging, but eventually you'll be able to connect to other gamers for some online play. It was easy enough to do it on Mario Kart DS, so I don't expect too many problems come Brawl and others.

Is it confirmed that Brawl is going to be online? I don't mind SSB series. I find it fun when it's played with people. But, 90% of the time, I tend to see it being played as one on one in tournament. It's so boring....
I guess I will find out what mine is later, but don't send me any weird Miis or I shoot you! I don't really get online with my Wii anyway lol. I play Wii sport and wii play only right now. I can beat anyone in the duck shooting game!

Folken, you should just post your friend code. . . who cares if all you get to do is look at our goofy Miis.
And here's something. . . have you guys noticed that Gadfly, Tashi, Trebor, Cuddly, and Fivespot all have the same mouth. . . the one that's a straight line, turned up into a wry half smile at the mouth's right corner? The classic smile of the smart ass. Since every other aspect of our Mii's are so different, and make them look a lot like our actual selves, I thought it was pretty interesting that we all used the same mouth.
Only Renz's Mii has a different mouth, an unapologetic great big goofy smile.
The Mii's are cool; can't wait until they are incorporated into an online golf game or something casual and stupid like that. The next Animal Crossing will hopefully use Miis. Wii sports should be online. Boxing with the Mii's online would be the best. . . . so I could wipe those stupid smiles off ya'lls faces :D

I own it but haven't played it much yet. My buddy has an outdoor screen and projector and we've been doing weekly Wii parties on his awesome set-up. Bought this game for the party last week but we never got around to playing it (couldn't stop Wii Bowling long enough to do so).

Well hey, fire it and see if you like it. I've been interested in the game for a bit, and it'd be good to get some feedback on it from people around here.
I also found a list of upcoming online enabled Wii games here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_Wi-Fi_Connection_games). It'll give us a little something to look forward to.

The soccer game is OK but I wouldn't recommend it as a possible online title. It's too frantic and arcade like to be competitive. Scoring feels like an accident rather than an accomplishment. And with the goofy power ups and such there are times when you can't even block a shot. Games end up high scoring yet only last 3 minutes or so although I think you can tweak the time within the settings - I played the 1up mode.
