On the Japanese PSN that is. If you have an account, you can proceed to download.

The demo contains the first level of the game and ends after the cutscene where Ayane brings news that the Hayabusa Clan's Village is under attack. You can use the new double Katana's in the demo as well as most of the other weapons like Lunar, Dabilharo, the Nunchuk's, Kitetsu and the Dragon Sword. As well, they've mapped the Great Elixers to the D-pad so you can heal yourself on the fly now.

Graphically, the game is not much of a leap over Ninja Gaiden Black. Aside from the new foliage, leave's falling from the trees and the generally sharper backgrounds due to a higher resolution, I don't see much of an improvement.

Anyway, after you've beaten the demo, you unlock hard mode and a mission mode where you get to play as Rachel.

If it ever gets on other PSN, I may check it out. If not, I'll still pick it up.

I just downloaded it, though it took forever (including 2 attempts) due to PSN's slowness.

I see a visual upgrade. It's more noticeable than the leap was from DOA 3 to DOA 4, but that may have been because DOA 4 was a launch title.

I tried out the dual swords. Though they have their own attacks and animations, it's just another option of weaponry. I never felt that dual-wielding was a necessity for the game (or any game) and I'll still use the Dragon Sword and Viggorian Flails the most in the full version.

I didn't have time to finish the demo, but after playing some of it, Ninja Gaiden still feels like its #1 in the action game category.

It took me a while too. I just left it on all night and it was done in the morning. I should've had folding home installed and maybe i could take the credit of several future life I am going to save in the future.

The game looks pretty. However, I am not largely impressed by it. I wasn't impressed when Ninja Gaiden first came out on Xbox (I got to the 3rd level before I quit). I thought the it was kinda retarded a ninja who supposedly to be stealthing through the damn place ended up fighting every god damn bad guy in the story. Does that make Ryu an awesome ninja or a very sh1tty one?

I always thought that since Ryu was out for revenge against anyone (or thing) that had to do with the killing of his clan, it didn't matter if he was stealthy or not. I'm glad he's not stealthy. That would make for a very crappy game (see Tenchu).

Yeah, Ryu isn't your traditional Ninja. There is no stealth at all involved in the game. He's more like the American Ninja.

.....C'mon, at least one of you has to get that reference.

Well, I didn't come to America until then 90s. So..... most of the American Ninja were dead by then. Hence, I didn't get the reference and you can't blame me!
