I think it might be fun to find out what we all have been doing in gaming lately.

I will start it myself.

Hmm, where should I start? I picked up God of War (finally) from my friend and beat it in a day. The game is pretty unique. I like how you can kill your enemies in special sequences. Boss fights are awesome. Aries at the end is too hard. He has a fire palm move that stunts you and then he follows it up with a combo. After several tries, I found out that O is the best attack against him. Use R1 to do the dash attack then do O x 4 if u get the chance. If not save, roll right out of there. One thing my friend has been complaining about GoW2 is that parry isn't as good as it was in the first game. But, in my opinion, parry in GoW is kinda broken. You can cancel anything into a parry at any given time. Sometimes, i actually feel sorry for the monsters/undead/whatever.

Recently, I spent a lot of time on fighters becuase I bought a hori stick. I've always played my fighting games on pad mainly. I played cvs2 at school arcade but i was never really comfortable with it. I have no problem switching from pad to stick as far as most of the fighting games go. Hori stick is pretty sensitive and I had problem adapting in the beginning. It took a couple weeks to overcome my difficulties. The only game that I have problem with is guilty gear. The way how GG is setup on stick is like reverse of the games I have ever played in my life.

in CvS2/SF3/Alpha3/whatever, it's always

punch punch punch
kick kick kick

in GGXX, it is

kick slash hardslash
punch dust

I've been playing fighting game since i was 14 and it's always punch at the top and kick at the bottom. Playing GG sometimes really make me feel that my mind is getting raped. A lot of times, I would be pressing kick and wonder why I didn't throw a punch. On pad, i was good with slayer/jam/sol/ky. I could also play some other character. But, I had the configuration set up like it's a capcom game. Typically, it's not banned in tournament to do that. But, i never imagined it would be this hard.....

I also got the fist of north star game and another anime game based on a manga. Fist of north star is not bad, but I feel like instant death moves are kinda homo. first of all, one round takes a while to finish. some of the supers int he game do sorry damage. Then, you can't really do best two out of 3. why? in order to do death move, you have to deplete this special bar each player has. I think you can deplete it by hitting your opponent with special move. Once the bar is complete gone or drained, u see this special animation on the screen. Then you know you can perform special death move. Arc system also installed death moves in guilty gear, but you could never do it in a combo. you would have to activate and activation takes time. so, unless you use ABA, getting hit by instant death move is almost impossible. Not so in fist of north star. For example, if you use kenshiro, all u have to do is crouching light kick x 2, crouching heavy kick, qcf+heavy kick, then qcf + heavy punch + heavy kick. That's instant death for your opponent. The special bar does not recharge itself very quickly and it doesn't recharge itself in the next round. so, let's say if you lose the first round, there is a good chance you will get instant kill in the 2nd round. that's exactly the reason why msot of the matches in tournament are best 3 out of 5. It takes a while to finish. blah.

I haven't played my ps3 much lately. I got tired of resistance and my friend wouldnt' play vf5 with me. He is pretty stubborn and he only plays vf with stick. the new update allows players to use usb apator to hook up their own ps2 controllers. but, it would only recognize certain input. anyways, only buttons on our sticks would work. we are waiting to see if pelican's new usb adapter will work better or not. If that doesn't work, might have to get new sticks :(

That is about it for now.

I picked up Resistance over a week ago, but I haven't had time to play it lately.

I finally tried Motorstorm online, and to be honest, it didn't feel any different from playing offline. The AI acts like human opponents, and they seem to make more mistakes than humans. I don't have a strong urge to play it online again, but I do need to play some more of the game.

I haven't touched God of War 2 for the entire month of April.

Other than that, I've been doing stuff on another console, but I won't mention those things except for one since the game is multiplat. On MLB 2K7, I pitched a one-hitter with LHP Johan Santana of Minnesota vs the Chi White Sox. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's good to know. I've been wanting to try motostorm, but racing is just not really my genre. Maybe i'll pick it up when it's like 10 bucks! I really like PSN. It's free, what is not to like?

After playing God of War, I am really looking forward to play the 2nd game.

I've started suikoden 5 and I am like 20 hours into it now. It's a surprising good game. I played 3 and I thought it was a let down. Then 4 was a piece of horsesh1t. 5 is a lot like 1 or 2. If you've played them, then u should have a good idea just how good 5 is. Only problem though is that 5 is too easy, imo.

It's free, but downloading stuff from the store is slow as hell. I couldn't believe that during the first time I was trying to download NG: Sigma, the game went from 70% to 76% complete in an hour. A whole hour. Great. It makes me want to check on the store for any playable demos maybe once a week or every two weeks.

I wonder if the Blu-Ray format will keep games from dropping in price as quickly as the probably should. It's too early to say right now, but if the launch titles are still hovering around $50 - $60 in the Fall, then I'll have my answer.

It's not that slow for me. I downloaded Ninja Gaiden Sigma twice, once when it came out in the Japanese store and again when it was released on our side of the world. Both times, it took me under an hour to download the game. Similarly, some of the larger trailers don't take that long either. However, the Live Marketplace is blazing fast. I remember downloading the Prey demo in under twenty minutes and that demo is over 1 gig.

How do you get those extra weapons in NInja Gaiden? I saw a trailer on youtube and this dude had like dual swords a huge spear and stuff.

It takes no time at all to download from LIVE Marketplace. I could have downloaded the Shivering Isles about 3 times before NGSigma was finished, and they are roughly the same size.

For NGSigma extra weapons, just hit pause and it should be in one of the menus. In the final version (much like the other two NG games), they'll start you out with just the Dragon Sword, which is still my favorite weapon in the game.

On PS3 it has mainly been Madden and Armored Core 2 and a little of God of War. I have been stuck on the first real boss, the 2 headed surpent.

Some have apparently been selected to test HOME for the PS3, anyone with a Home Beta Trial icon has been selected as a HOME tester, check into it, you may have been selected too and not know it yet. I never bothered to touch the HOME icon because I was told it would not go live until the Fall sometime. I plan to check it out tonight if it really is true that Sony has selected some of us to test it out, if so I will post comments on it shortly. With my luck I doubt I was lucky enough to be selected, but odds are good that someone here on this site has been and should follow through.

Here's how I found out:

Home Beta Trial Mysteriously Appears In U.S.?

Okay, now this is just getting frustrating. Who is "pre-selected" and why? And when will the peons get a chance to sign up? The Beta Trial for PlayStation Home has been getting a lot of attention lately, primarily due to the mystery of certain users suddenly getting a chance to download the Beta. It first appeared in Europe last week, and now, the first American PS3 users are reporting the Home Beta Trial has appeared in the Featured section of the PlayStation Store.

According to some members over at the official PlayStation boards, they've already downloaded the trial. But there has been no announcement from Sony, and the Home Beta Trial site hasn't changed one iota. Sony did confirm last week that a few specially "chosen" testers had received an invite in Europe, and it appears the same thing is happening in North America.

But is the selection random? We have no idea, but we do know - after checking the Store on our PS3 - that we see no Home Beta Trial icon in the Featured section. So basically, if we could have some sort of clarification from Sony, that'd be great. But to all those who found that icon earlier this morning, we say congrats to you...and refrain from throwing a tantrum of our own.

I am in no hurry though. I dont' think HOME is going to make me love my PS3 more. It'd be nice to have, but there's really no desperation on my part. I just want to see how heavenly sword is. Warhawk is another title I am heavily interested in.

I just picked up GoW2. People have been saying this game is harder than the first installment, but I thought it was easier.... I just got Icarus' wing and it kinda sucked. I wonder what's going to happen next..... So far, I found out Kratos is still a hardass and Zeus is a douche.
