PS3 takes top spot in T3 magazine's Hot 100, Apple's iPhone at No. 2 and Nintendo's Wii at No. 8. The Hot 100 represents the "must have kit every man should own."
T3 describe the PS3 as "Sony's super-console which towers above all other gadgets." They were impressed with its high definition graphics for games and its media features which would put you in "total control of your digital life."
On the iPhone they said that it was "set to do for mobiles what the iPod did for MP3 players" and on the Wii they liked the Wiimote, Wii Sports and the ability to design your own Mii characters.

What is T3 magazine?
And doh, just because they say I should get an Alpha Romeo doesn't change the fact that my heart is set on a Bentley Contintenal GT Convertible.

You made a spelling error there. You meant to type "Toyota Camry". That car is like, so awesome, and stuff.

No you meant a Telsa Motor's Roadster. Which can go 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds! (0-100km/h)
Plus is 100% electric car that costs roughly 1 cent per mile.
Its alll about the electric. U want the best acceleration for the most of your buck, get electric. They have 200 Torque from the get go, gasoline cars need to build up to reach that.

T3 means "Tomorrow's Technology Today". It's a Gadget magazine published in the UK by Future Publishing. It's a magazine which details tech, month after month after month, for e.g. cameras, phones, mp3 players, televisions etc..
There are various versions of the mag in Australia, India, Singapore and a multitude of other countries, anyways, you get the point.

1. Sony PS3 - Umm...actually, if you don't count the beta-max esque Blu Ray tech, the 360 is much more functional as far as an all-around media hub
2. Apple iPhone - sheep choose the iPod, sheep will chose the iPhone. I don't care how "sexy" a device is, iTunes is a cumbersome POS.

Indeed, Iphone may look great but a lot of its features are pretty useless like the double touch and positional sensors, whereas they skimp on really useful things like 3G connectivity. And iTunes is still a POS, and you can be sure the iPhone will have restricted access to 3rd part software (much like the XBox 360 is with Live) as well as not having user-replaceable batteries.
Instead I am interested in the Meizu MiniOne, pretty much an iPhone clone from China but running Windows instead, meaning it's going to be a far smarter Smart Phone.

BTW I think I know what T3 is now. T3 is a magazine in circulation in the Philippines for techies. It stands for "Tomorrow's Technology Today." I remember reading an issue of it before.

For the PS3 to qualify as "The Most Important Home Entertainment Device Since the TV", it'd have to do something that changes the way we think of the medium. So far all it's done is offered prettied up versions of games we've already played on the PS2 and Xbox. Oh, and Blu-ray, which is like DVD..but HI-DEF OH **** ME INNOVATION TAKE ME NOW.
In a couple of years I might change my tune. But right now all the PS3 has done is make me say "oh neat" a couple of times.

Wow the opposing views. I actually think the IPOD is one of the best consumer electronic device in say the last 20 years. I don't know where i'd rank it either ahead of or behind the digital camera. Either ahead of or behind the cell phone.
I remember in like 2000 I went to Japan. I took a CD Walkman, about 12 cds, and I had a few pictures of my kids in my wallet. Last year I went on vacation I had one of the old big white IPODs, no photo, no video. I took about 2000 hours of music! This year I bought an 80GB IPOD that obviously plays videos and photos. So now I can bring about 4000 hours of music, I can bring thousands of photos, home videos, TV shows and movies!!! All on a device the size of a pack of cigs!!
Now you say Itunes sucks. I've not bought any videos or movies or TV shows for my IPOD, but I may before I go on the next business trip or go on vacation.
My moms for instance is not into computers or really even CDs. But she loves music and she can never get enough pics of her grandkids. This year when she comes to visit i'm gonna buy her a 30GB Ipod and some speakers. She won't be able to add anything to it, because she is computer illiterate, but I will load up with all her favorite music, tons of pics of my kids, and tons of video of the kids, and every visit i will update it for her. Then when she goes home not only can she enjoy it, she can take it to aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and show 'em her grand babies. I think the IPOD is pretty damn amazing and probably the most important consumer electronics device since the TV if any device can make that claim.

Taking a CD walkman on a trip, man those were the pain-in-the-ass days! Clearly, Mp3 players have changed our lives for the better, but I wouldn't call the Ipod the best consumer electronic device of the last 20 years. . . maybe you should just say portable music players are on of the best consumer electronic devices of the last 20 years, and count Ipod as one of the brands. Because I've been toting around music, pictures, and even Word documents on my 62,000 color screen Samsung Mp3 player for ages now, and it plays music formats the Ipod does NOT play, and it even has an FM radio tuner in it.
The Ipod is a neat-o looking fashionable Mp3 player, but it is not the be-all end-all of portable music. Wait, it doesn't play Mp3's does it? Or WMA files? Or OGG music files? And do ANY Ipods have FM radios built in? I HATE the proprietary and restrictive nature of that thing. It is a fascist little device that forces a format on you, and by limiting you, tries to lead you to purchase iTunes.

Well I think when anybody thinks about mp3 players they think IPOD. I don't even know the names of other comparable devices, oh aside from Zune. I use to have a Rio player before an IPOD, it was a cheap little thing and a PITA. In fact, that damn Rio player made me skeptical of ever buying an IPOD. But once I did I've had nothing but great experiences with IPOD.
As far as worrying about the formats, well, if that's an issue for you, I don't think it is for most. You can't win them all. Personally it is something I could careless about. As long as they support MP3 I'm good. On top of that if you never want to buy an ITUNES song, you don't have to. Most of the music I buy is still CDs that I transfer into ITUNES. Over the years I've bought no more than 50 songs from ITUNES, probably even less than that. Plus guess who is at the forefront of making digital music more open, Apple.
Far as FM radio, if that is an important feature for a consumer, then don't buy an IPOD. But I think the whole thing with the IPOD is to get away from radio.

Take note I never said the iPod was a POS, though that wouldn't be *too* far from my actual views. :)
I said iTunes was a cumbersome POS, and I said the iPhone has some features I find superfluous when I'd rather see some other features, and the iPhone is likely to share many of the iPod's weaknesses like non-user-replaceable battery, reliance on iTunes, and a controlled environment (which is a big no no for a "smart" phone.)
The iPod itself isn't bad, it's a nice piece of equipment but a bit overpriced for what it does, in comparison to other solutions, and it was by no means the first hard-disk based portable player. Or even the first digital audio player. Still a nice player to have but I just can't stand how dependent it is on iTunes, and there are simply better solutions out there.
The Ipod is a neat-o looking fashionable Mp3 player, but it is not the be-all end-all of portable music. Wait, it doesn't play Mp3's does it? Or WMA files? Or OGG music files? Er... iPods play MP3s. And with some extra effort, you can use iPods without iTunes... but it's not worth the effort. BTW, iTunes is free. But yeah you can't play WMA or OGG, and no iPod has FM Radio built in. The proprietary, restrictive, controlled nature of the iPod is what turns me off, and you can be sure the iPhone will follow suit.
Well I think when anybody thinks about mp3 players they think IPOD.
No. Just no.
If I wanted to buy a small DAP right now, I'd get the Meizu M6.
If I wanted to buy a big MP3 player (one with tons of storage space) I'd buy an Archos 704 Wifi. Hella expensive though. When are they going to create a Palm PDA with like a 20GB harddisk, damn it.

Is it bad that I use my PSP as my portable MP3 player?
The most annoying thing about using PsP as a portable Mp3 player is that it has such a quiet sound output, even on headphones. It's terrible on an airplane even if you use noise-cancelling headphones.
But yeah, the PsP is to me kinda the ultimate travel toy. Movies, music, games. And I've used it on a plane to listen to Mp3's. To solve the poor headphone output I bought a small-ish product called "Boostaroo" which takes two double a batteries, has a male headphone jack, and three female headphone connections. On a bus, wherever, if you're gonna haul around something as big as the Ps3, you oughta get this sound booster. It's great.

The PS3 has been on the CNET's weekly TOP 20 for most wanted products for a whopping 35 weeks straight, this week it's at #1. The influx of the incoming quality software will ensure much better numbers at retail for the $600.00 machine.
