I can already hear the whimpering of the weaksauce. Calm down nancies, you'll get your God of War 3 someday.
Anyway, here you go:

Enemies like Frosts are making a return from DMC1 which is good news. One of the biggest complaints against DMC3 was the lack of enemy variety and this is being addressed in DMC4. Also, active style switching has been mentioned and is practically confirmed.
Ninja who? God of What? Heavenly Hooha? The true action king is here, baby.
Please please please, be better then DMC2.

Actually, the game is said to be more accessible to newbs but really hard when you get to the higher difficulty levels. I like what they did with DMC1 in that if you kept losing badly, the game would ask you if you wanted to switch to easy mode. Hope that makes a return.

I have to admit that when I first got DMC, it went down exactly like that scene in the comic but the sofa was actually my little brother taunting me from the background.

I wasn't even going to post anything until I saw this. Now you know DMC 4 will have to do a whole lot to outdo a PS2 game and a 2nd remake of an Xbox game. And since it's Capcom, I honestly don't know if they have it in them to make it happen.
I didn't put Heavenly Sword in there with the other two games, though. The devs aren't proven yet, and I don't even know if this will be their first game (I don't think it is). I'll still pick up HS when it comes out, and leave DMC 4 on the shelf collectiing dust.

Why do you even post when you have said time and time again that you have no interest in buying the game?
Anyway, all your *****ing about Capcom aside, hardcore games prefer DMC3 over God of War and to a small extent Ninja Gaiden. It's not Capcom's fault that you have some chip on your shoulder about the way they approach game design. There are plenty of people out there that prefer the way they do games as evidenced by the nearly 1.6 million copies of DMC3 sold worldwide.

Did you turn easy automatic on? That allows you to do the fancier combos much more easily.

A lot of times, I felt it was the camera issue that prevented me from killing these damn demons. I guess that's why I couldnt' kill those brothers. I knew they were going to charge at me. I jumped then I lost sight of them.
Oh, and I hope there is no more stances. Just let Dante to be able to do all the moves.

You could use lock on. Ususally what I did when they charged me was jump up to avoid and as I was coming down, I would lock on with the twin pistols and start firing. That would keep me up in the air longer and would show me where at least one of the demons was. Then, I would come down with Rebellion's Helm Breaker move and start a combo.
Another extremely useful move that is very rarely used by beginners is the Devil Trigger Explosion. You can only use this if you buy purple orbs from the statues. After that all you do is, hold down L1 until all the Devil Trigger orbs after the first three begin to glow red. When you release L1, the move will create a red vortex around you that will damage any enemy nearby. On normal, a full scale Devil Trigger explosion is enough to take down half of the lifebar of the Hell Vanguard (the very first boss with the Scythe)

I'm glad they're keeping the active weapon switching for this game. I actually thought that this game would be taking a slight step backwards and only include a really limited number of weapons. Of course, I say slight, because they could do the "less weapons, more moves" like I think they should. Maybe even have something like they did with Virgil in DMC3 where he gets only his three styles, and you can build them up from there.
I will definitely be getting this game on the 360. The way they encourage you to play the game(high points, max combos, min damage, max style) screams Xbox Live Leaderboards. I wonder though because the game is now multi-plat if the PS3 version will include some kind of leaderboard.

Unless there's some huge differences between the two, I'll get the PS3 version simply because I've got the first three games. This is one game actually where I'm looking forward to the Home concept of decorating your trophy room with vids of your games. I hope DMC4 supports that because then I'll be able to decorate the room with my own custom combo vids.

Nah, I don't possess the technical know how or a strong enough PC for that. That's why I like this Trophy thing Sony is doing.

Same here, slade. Matter of fact, my girl recently got herself a laptop, and it has media center and Movie Maker and some other stuff, but when I tried to mess withy it one day, I was clueless. And it's frustrating because I always see these sucky-assed user-movies that I know I could do better in every way, but I just don't know how to do stuff on my puter nor do I have a digital camera to capture the games, or whatever is needed to capture your gameplay. Anyone have a good site for noobs about this?
Will Home have that option for all games, or will it be the devs choice?

Man, that flame demon minotaur boss guy looks insane. This is one game I have to get.
I hope it's not as hard as DMC3. Actually, it wasn't the difficulty so much as having to repeat the entire damn level if I died against the boss towards the end. That just pissed me off.

That's what makes the game challenging(that and the insane bosses). You're not supposed to have unlimited lives and the ability to start right before the boss everytime. That's what God of War is for. I don't mind the occasional checkpoints, but having one in almost every new room you enter is just too much.
I blame it on the whole "one life" deal that plagues games these days. There's no real fear of death these days when you have the ability to re-spawn only a couple of rooms from where you once were.
Ugh, Prey.

Are you kidding? You think I don't have anything better to do with my time than play the same mind-numbingly frustrating level over and over again for 3 hours just to get to the next part of the game? That's just plain ridiculous. Give me a polished game like God of War where there is a challenging mode in God Mode and an easy-going mode for when I want to get through the game quick and enjoy myself, and I'll take that over DMC3 any day.

LOL.
Also, I was reading that Nero doesn't have any active weapon switching, can you confirm this, slade? I was reading that it was reserved for Dante.
I'm wondering if this game is going to pull a MGS2 on us(only slightly different), by having us think we're playing Nero until he ends up fighting Dante, then the realize that they are on the same type of mission and then you will have the option to play as either in any level. That would be kind of gay.

No clue. There's a lot of conflicting information around at the moment because of the scans and dicey translations. I'm going on a media blackout of this game until it comes out. Aside from what is revealed thus far, I don't want to know any more.

It's lame that Nero looks like Dante's twin brother. I mean, come on, Virgil doesn't even look that similar to Dante and they are twins.

Vergil looks exactly like Dante. He just has his hair slicked back. You can see it in the opening cinema of DMC3.

Nero looks similar to Dante but is not as close as Vergil was:

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree for now. Until the HD screen shot of virgil becomes available. If this game was on PS2 and one day Virgil, Nero and Dante were walking on the street, you could tell Dante and Virgil apart but, I doubt you could tell who's Dante and who's Nero.
