Man, you should have put this into Console Wars..

VOODOO VINCE BEATS CASTLEVANIA! HAHAHAH!!!

Still no frikkin True Crime reviews?! Im glad I didn't preorder it because I heard it's goign to suck because of a piss poor racing engine. Topspin and Metal Arms lookin good...this HAS to be the first issue of GI where Xbox actually beats PS2 as far as average reviews are concerned.

Link 2004- I'll just mention a few of the things in case you haven't received your GI yet.

"On the surface, there's a lot to like. Whether it's the upgradable real-life equipment, awesome looking golfers, or the online play, you'd better get your shaking stick out if you want to keep track of everything. The problem is that it just doesn't play right. The physics system for the ball is out of whack. There is often no predicting what it will do, whether it's windy, the green is heavy, or whatever...."

True Crime- I'm still going to pick up this title. Hopefully, the delay gave the dev team time to work on the racing engine. From the video demo given with preorders, the driving looks ok to me, but controlling it is probably another thing. I also heard it was hard to aim. I'm not sure if they mean the auto aim or the manual aim.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence- I'm picking this one up also. The video I saw on this title looked really good.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike- I'm surprised at this review. Even though I had no thoughts on getting this title, before any review of the game, I'm curious to see the rest of the scores. Hopefully it will be better for fans of this series.

Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu- From a few of the reviews I read on this, one of the problems is most of the moves are locked. For a beat 'em up game, that sucks.I still say the best Batman game is Batman Returns on the Sega Genesis (it played differently than the SNES version)

Unless there are bad review scores for a game, I rarely see them as the final verdict on whether I get a game or not.

What's up Twelve?
Did you get your GI already too? What'd they say?

I haven't gotten mine yet.
And I'm getting... anxiuos.
I mean, what the hell is "8"?!? Yeah, normally 8 is a pretty good score... a good thing. But... not for a franchise such as the Castlevania's. Not with it's loyal following. And especially not for a Castlevania that's going off in a "new direction". I need to know more!

You're right.

But, with the crazy-mad-rush of games coming out over the next 6 weeks (like 12+ games!) this is a time when I need help in discerning what to buy and when.

Crimson Skies is a lock/must have.
So to is Metal Arms.
And Ratchet & Clank 2.
And then PGR2 is the NEXT REALLY BIG THING - after CS.

And I'll most likely be getting Music Mixer the day it comes out as well.

There's just too many great looking games coming out that I'm interested in!
I-I... I need... help.

Oh, and thanks for the info.

Amen.

What's up, Glock. Nah, I don't suscribe to GI, so I'll be curious as to see what else is said about the game.

For games such as Legacy of Kain: Defiance, Alias (I like the show) and Spawn, I will look to the reviews to hear the feed back, since I'm a little iffy on those titles. But for games such as Castlevania, True Crime, and Ninja Gaiden, I will get those regardless of reviews, because I have a feeling I will enjoy them anyway.

You're welcome. While I have some free time, I will post some of what GI said about Lament of Innocence.

"...The sum of these gameplay segments, Lament's combat, is a fluid affair whose pleasure comes from an intoxicating give and take of combo attacks and defensive moves. However, once you master battles, the title holds few other elements that are as attractive. When it comes down to it, it fels like I was playing a war of attrition with the large maps in a dungeon crawler rather than an epic adventure for the ages. For instance, the enemy AI wasn't great, and as rich as the environments were, I wanted to double-jump and platform my way to uncover more of their secrets. Unfortunately, this is a minor element that is not helped whatsoever by the computer-controlled camera....."
From Game Informer, Nov 2003.

Also.....

"....Lament is as good as this series can be in 3D; but it's not in the same class as it's 2D predecessors." Also from Game Informer, Nov 2003.

I saw this game in motion (I think from a PSM disk), and I was sold. As long as the controls are good, I can probably live with the camera.

I've been playing Lament for about a week now, and I still like the game. It has really kept my attention. The main guy, Leon Belmont, reminds me of Alucard, so at times I want to transform into a bat or a wolf, but he can't.
