Hey is any of you guys have GT4 and an HDTV, I've got a question. Do you any of you think it looks better on normal or progressive san then it does on HD mode. When I put the game is HD, it seems to want to stretch the feed on the screen or something. Comments?

Also I have the steering wheel for the game, do you guys know it if it works for PS3 games too, especially with the force feed back and all. I know the F1 demo is out. Anyone with a steering wheel have any answers?

From what I know of HD TV's and PS2/Games. Most games unless given the ability to change the ratio from 4:3 to 16:9, you will get the stretching or what I like to call Fattening. I also find that unless it's in progressive scan, PS2 games look like ass on an HDTV. In the case of GT4, just go into the options and see if you have a Progressive scan mode and a 16:9 ratio in the menu.

Some PS2 games that state they are Progressive Scan but don't contain the ability in the options menu are usually done by holding the "Square" and "Triangle" buttons upon bootup of the desired game.

Racing wheel/Force Feedback? Nope sorry kid Click here (http://kotaku.com/gaming/sixaxis/no-force-feedback-for-ps3-racing-wheels-either-226250.php)

Hmm. Well I already changed the ratio to 16:9, actually it does it for you when you switch to the various modes. I did the progressive scan mode in 420p, but I also ran it at the HDTV mode they have in GT4 which says it's 1080i. So the three options both have 16:9 ratio, but to me the normal mode looks better than the 1080i. I haven't really run the 420p. I guess my main question was if anyone else was having these same issues.

I mean if the game has the ability to run at 1080i, and there's a mode to switch it, and I have component cables for my HDTV, then I'm under the assumption that the 1080i mode would look better than the normal mode. For some reason it doesn't seem to. It's a bit hard to explain though. It kind of looks better but it really doesn't if anyone gets what I'm saying when I say that.

The PS3 has been said to have problems running games properly in 1080i. (or are you running this game through you're PS2? Can it even do 1080i?) Apparently they don't look as good as they should. Now you also have to remember that GT4 is a PS2 game by nature (Unless you are playing GT-HD Concept) so for it to run in 1080i is not it's standard resolution. Thus you might find graphcal discrepancies.

Aside from that, I've never played the actual GT4 on PS2...only GT3 and GT-HD Concept on PS3...sorry.

haha. I am playing it on my PS2. The thing is you. I mean a component cable set up gets you the best picture regardless and there is the option in GT4. I don't think it matters with the console itself as long it is sending an HD feed which with component cables it can. I don't know. Whatever, GT4 still looks good.

When I had GT4 I was playing in 1080i on Ps2; I don't know that it looked worse than regular mode. . .but it didn't look as good as God of War in 420p. The textures, and background especially, look all crawly in GT4 and give me a headache.
