I know this might not even be a popular subject, but since the PS3 is backwards compatible do you guys know if it will work with FFXI online? I'm just one of those guys that loves this game, while my subscription is cancelled atm, I'll be getting on it again in a month or so. I know the PS3 has a hard drive and all, so I'm wondering if it will install the PS2 game just like the PS2 did when it had the hard drive. I mean it should work right? Does anyone have any info on this? I have FFXI on the PC, but this is just one of those games i'd rather play on a console.

Well from what I've been reading, Sony has now provided PS3 users the ability to play FF11 online with thier PS3 systems via 1.31 firmware update. If you go to the "Playstation Store" you will find a download called "PS2 Utility" this enables PS2 harddrive enabled games to be compatible and work on your PS3/PS3 Harddrive.

"According to this machine translated page, they've added "installation of hard disk private PlayStation®2 standard software."
