Every one knows that sony sent out new dev tools to allow devs to work with the scaler chip in the ps3. and with all the new games coming out, games will all scan to what ever tv you have, weather 1080i or just 720p
i can confirm this because, i rented the new sonic game, and the game says on the back of the box, that it only supports 720p. when i tested in my ps3, on 1080i it played in 1080i, and when i tested in in 1080p it played in 1080p. So there. Its fixed for new games now. Cant wait to play vf5 in 1080p, (even though its just upscaled its better then nothing).
People who have sonic should go ahead and try it. just wonted to let you guys know

So what dose this prove....it proves that the ps3 dose indeed have a scaler, and devs have gottin tools for it as from early january. ever new game will support all resolution from 720p and up,when upscaling(just like the other system dose)
i also posted this on the gamespot fourms.
PS. this only workswith new games that come out in 2007, this dose not fix games that where launched last year. this is also the reason why VF5 box says its supports, 480-1080p, meaning it will upscale to all resolutions
