Here's another question for everyone. If you were stranded on a deserted island for a very long time but magically had access to your favorite console and one game of choice (and of course a tv), what game would you choose? Take into consideration not necessarily your all time favorite game, (though that will be a factor) but also a lengthy one, and also one with some replay value (your gonna be there for a while).
I think I would choose a fighter, like maybe Soul Calibur because there is some much to unlock, the game is stunning, there are many different events as well (survival, weapons, arcade etc.) not to mention no two fights are exactly the same. though my favorite game is Zelda OOT there are only but so many heart pieces and bottles to find. What would you guys choose?

I'd take along a boring game so it doesn't get in the way of me finding a way off the island.

I'd make sure I had my wireless Satellite Internet with me so I could play Halo 2 forever more.
Id take a boat sim game ;)
Ok, seriously, since Id be "there" along time, I'd take Civ3. I might have it whipped by the time my shore leave was up ;)

Actually, we just had this question just a little bit ago.

I'd take along a boring game so it doesn't get in the way of me finding a way off the island.

Why the hell would you want to do that?!?
Sounds like heaven to me. And I that's without the videogame system! All I'd really need is a toothbrush, and then I'd be set.

Ditto!
If not Halo2, "because it's not out yet"... then either...
Tetris [NES Version - assuming that the NES would magically work everytime without a problem]
or, MotoGP 2 .
Actually, I'm leaning towards MGP2, now that I think about it. Given a [B]very long time to play this game, and concentrate on nothing else, maybe I could actually complete the Legend difficulty and finally max out my bike!?!

Currently, it's feeling like I can play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance forever.

Yeah well, don't let the game consume your time too much otherwise you'd starve and die.

Surprisingly, or not, I would pick Elderscrolls 3: Morrowind GOTY Edition for Xbox to play. With the bugs gone (hopefully), I could see well over 100 + hours of gameplay, and that's only playing through it once.

...If you were stranded on a deserted island for a very long time but magically had access to your favorite console and one game of choice...

May sound weird but...I would choose a game I don't even own, haven't even considered purchasing, one going by the name of Dead or Alive : Beach Volleyball.
Seeing how I would be deprived from any real female companionship for a long time, I would have to go with the next best thing ! BTW, most sports games offer great replay value, and from what I've read there's tons of items to be collected, camera angles to be mastered, minigames to be enjoyed, an underlying volleyball enigine that's none too shabby etc. etc.
Yup...I would definitely not grow tired of this, during a prolonged stay on a deserted island that is.
Yeah, I know this doesnt really count but here goes...
First off i would have my PC or laptop w/ me and with sattelite internet.... I know you said CONSOLE AND TV... but I'd much rather have this and play an online, strictly-multiplayer game called Gunbound... it doesnt have amazing technology but it's a hell of a lot of fun bacause its really more about the interaction w/ other players so it has virtually infinite replay value.
...and if it absolutely HAD TO be a console game...
I dunno...
I'd probly pik sumthin with LIVE and multiplayer capabilities, probly Halo2.
Good times, later ppl!

I think I would choose... Dark Cloud 2, there are so many things to do to this game...
Here are the list:
1. Different weapons used by Max and Monica
2. Take a picture of different scoops (I love this part)
3. Get all ideas and Inventions
4. Accessories of the Ridepod
5. Get all Spheda in every level
6. Keep/Breed a fish and have a race at Finny Frenzy
7. Get all the badges for Monster transformation
This is the best RPG game for me... so many things to be done in this game... tekbit can I get another game? Any Street Fighter game :D

Nah, Street Fighter is cool but it wouldn't be my game of choice. Another game huh? Hmmm... this may sound really stupid, but i think I'd go with the Sims.1)This game definetly has the ultimate replay value 2) I seriously can play this game for hours 3) If I were stranded on a deserted island, this is the closest I can get in relation to my former life.

It's kinda dumb to waste time by playing a console game when I could be building a raft, creating a smoke signal, etc.
But nevertheless, I'd choose WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain (even though it's not out yet) I saw a trailer and the storylines are very interesting. The storylines would keep me gaming for months.

I can't believe no one thought to bring along any of the Grand Theft Auto series. I personally would bring my brand new GTA Bundle Pack I just got (I know techically it's 2 games but it's sold as a single unit) There are just too many things u can do on this game. My brother has a PS2 (that's y I tell him he's adopted) LoL!! I played it one weekend and fell in love. There virtually no end to what u can do in this game. He's been playing Vice City for about 8 months or so and is only like 70% complete. Even after u complete the game there's tons of mini-games.

Perfect game to be stranded with.Great game, great graphics, alot of great moments listening to Tommy curse up a storm, plenty of things to do in the game, and not to mention alot of music tracks in both games to keep you dancing.
The perfect combo for the Island.

Somebody mentioned Civ 3, which is what I would go with, if I had a laptop and electricity.
Strictly console speaking, I doubt there is any game ever developed that I could play for eternity and not get sick of it after a year or less. Super Street Fighter 2 would be good if there was somebody else on the island too.

I'm glad to see that someone other than myself has a little bit of common sense. I've been a console gamer since I was a kid and never before has there been an offline line only title w/ as much longevity as this. GOOD CALL BRO!!
