I'm stuck in Zelda and feel like a jackass because it is pretty early on. I am on the second wave of "tears of light" where you first go to Death Mountain. Where in the hell is the last bug guys? It is driving me insane. You go up that ramp on the right, do a Midna jump to the top, and then you hit an impassable path with one of those creatures(forget the name)standing guard. You can drop down to the other side and there are 4 shadow bugs to kill but no sign of the final light bug. I was assuming that the final bug would be there, but I can't find it anywhere.

You should be able to see it on your map. . . they are a white dot. The bug may be on a section of map not visible on your screen, so you may need to scroll around. Also, I believe you have to dig up one of the bugs.

When I am in the town there is a white dot on the map to the North(smack dab where Death Mountain is). However, as soon as I head up the path to Death Mountain the map changes to a map of the Death Mountain area and there is no sign of the dot. I think it is because it is one that you have to dig up. I am definately missing one because my vessel of light is not full. I hope that Trebor knows where it is.

I'm in/on Death Mountain as well, though I'm on the GC version. I think I missed that bug my first time as well, because I remember the map changing and the white dot wasn't there anymore. I can't remember what I did after that. That may have been the white dot that's in a bomb warehouse on the top on the right side while still in town. Did you already get that one?

I passed that part a while ago, so it's tough to remember exactly, but I think RBH has a good suggestion. Also, did you check out the graveyard at all? I recall there being at least one bug there...

EDIT: I just read your second post. So there is supposed to be one around the Mtn., but you can't find it... dang. It's really, really hard to remember, but you might be missing a path or something.

I got the graveyard one, and I got the one above the bomb store(actually after the shack blows up you get three). The damn thing has to be on Death Mountain, and it is not like there are really any branching paths. I have now checked every Zelda walkthrough on the web for the answer, and they all say that you must do the second Midna jump from the strange ramp on the right, and then you are supposed to be able to drop off the other side into a "small pond". WTF.

Hmm... this may sound dumb, but after you do the first Midna jump, try turning around 180 degrees. I know I missed a jump a couple times because the trigger point was behind where the first jump landed.

Did you get as far as you could going to Death Mountain? Near (or past) the Goron Spirit? I believe there was one in that area.

I think we are going to recall every location of the bugs we can remember until the one you need pops up, Prince.

All I can say is good luck. . . just get yourself near the white dot, I know some of them were in weird places, from having to light the fireplace to burning down a house. Just rest assured the third vessel of light bug hunt is a lot harder!

Every Zelda game I've ever played there's some head-slapping DOH place I get stuck where I was staring right at the solution all along. Get through it, because this game just keeps getting better and better and better. Just when I think I couldn't be more blown away, there's whole new gameplay elements I've never done in a Zelda game.

There are so many cool things to discover in this game.

I got Zelda this morning. I didn't read any of your posts because of the spoiler alert. I've been playing for about 4 hours today. I just gathered all the tears of light to save Orton forest from the darkness. It was funny walking around the village as a wolf and all the people are scared of you and you can talk to the animals.

So how do you guys like the Wii controls? I have to play on my old school Gamecube controller... :(

Anyway the game seems fun so far. Can't really give much of an opinion yet because I'm just getting started though. I just got my real sword and shield and stuff so I'll be heading into the forest temple next.

:p

I like the Wii version first because with the progressive scan and widescreen support, it looks noticeably better than the cube version. But the controls. . . MAN. That's where it's at for me. I'm so happy to see that the controls are not just gimmicky or tacked on. There are sections where I KNOW it's going to be so much harder with a GC control. I don't believe this is a spoiler--because you see clips of it in all the trailers--but there is horseback combat where you use your bow and arrow, and being able to aim instead of move a cursor with a thumbstick is amazingly precise.

All that I can say is boy am I stoopid! My last bug was not on Death Mountain afterall. You had to do a little roof jumping at the very North part of town, then go up this rather obvious path, break some canisters, and lo and behold the bug ran out. Unbelievable.

Ha ha, I got stuck at the very end of forest temple when you have to grab the bomb with the boomerang then send it up the ledge to destroy the boulder. I kept trying to throw the bomb at it from the bottom of the ledge. I eventually gamefaqsed it after about 15 minutes or so of blowing myself up.

I made a post over in the gamecube forum too. I'll post it here too. This is the game Windwaker should have been. There is actually a challenge. I played all the way through windwaker without a single death. I've already died a handful of times in Twilight Princess. And yes the cartoon graphics in windwaker are cute but let's face it......Link is supposed to be a bad @$$ that kills things with a sword and shoots flaming arrows at people. The "T" rating was definitely needed. Although, I'm still a little turned off by the "exploding" enemies. Don't get me wrong I don't expect stuff you kill to spray out blood then collapse on the ground and convulse a few times before it dies. But at least let it fall down then just disappear or something.

Ha ha, I'm sure it looks good on your widescreen HDTV. But as for me I just have a 27" standard def tv. It's actually about the best 27" non high def tv you can get, it's flat screen and all but I'm not sure if progressive scan would make much of a difference. And about the controls...

------highlight below for spoiler-----

The part where you chase that monster riding on the boar around trying to save your little friend is AWESOME. But at the end I'm wondering how you guys playing the Wii version did with the jousting match on the bridge. Because for me on the Gamecube controller I found it to be quite frustrating. Maybe I wasn't doing something right, but I could only dodge him going to right because Link would only swing his sword to the left side even though the directions on screen say you can go right or left. And he knocked me off the bridge about 8 times or so. Another reason I ask is because I read in a review that Link is left handed in the Gamecube version and right handed in the Wii version.

-----highlight above for spoiler-----

Anyway, I'm having so much fun playing this game. The first thing I did this morning is wake up and go to forest temple ha ha. This is the game I've been waiting for since majora's mask.

For some reason, I haven't played this game all week. I've yet to figure out why.

My last known location is inside Death Mountain.

Heh, you went from "Im a Jackass" to "Im stoopid" pretty quick, I take it you love the game as much as I do. I have nearly finished the game I think, I'm at the 38 hour mark as of last night. I may be able to beat it by Saturday or Sunday. The other guys seemed to have helped you out so I am late. I haven't been to this part of the forums until just now, so I will try to pop in and see if anyone else or yourself gets stuck again to help out. This game gives you an huge sense of accomplishment.

Zelda on the Wii = Nearly perfect game

Even though Red Steel gets assy reviews, it seems that most people that have played it like it a lot, so I hope to get that one today and Raving Rabbids

I believe I'm right at the end of the game, getting ready to what I suspect is the last quest. But I haven't played in a week either. My wife insists that she be there for the end. She's caught a lot of the game (and been pretty helpful with some of the twistier puzzles) and definitely wants to see the stories conclusion. It's just a matter of having a free few hours at the same time.

you just don't want it to end.

The next version I hope has more fine control over sword play, a chopping swing should result in a chopping swing. A sidways slash should result....you get the picture.

Shooting birds from horseback with the bow is just about perfect. I also think when you are a wold that sometimes fighting gets a bit out of control as wolfy tends to start jump attacking way more than I commanded him too....but all this is nit picking, the game's nearly perfect in my opinion.

Well hell. I thought I was nearly at the end of this game but after the last scene I just went through I think I am only about half way done now....this game goes on and on and on like Grandia 2...this is a good thing actually because I was starting to get depressed that it may soon all be over.

That's true. I don't want this game to end. After today, I should know for sure whether I'm really at the last thing or not.

Well, I beat Zelda yesterday - was around 85 hours of play time. Very nice ending, appropriately long for such a long game.

Kind of bitter-sweet, actually, both the ending and the fact that I'm now done with Twilight Princess.

that's what I was figuring last night, about 70 or 80 hours. I'm only at 41 so far and looking for fish.

I can't belive it took you 85 hours. That is 20 more hours then it took me. Though I did get stuck in the air-city. That is what bogged me down for about 5 hours.

That's because I took my sweet, sweet time and savored the game - perhaps you did not, I have no idea. I don't even know who you are.

I probably spent over 10 hours fishing alone, simply because I felt like it. Not to mention all the various mini-games found in TP.
