Gotta say I'm a Unreal Tournament man. But only because I've been playing the game for over 2 years and I have a Radeon 9700. So graphix show up nice for me ... especially water reflections. mmmmmhhmmmm :D

I imagine in the next 5 to 10 years we'll start seeing more massive networked pc/online pc First Person Shooters combined with 3rd Person commander roles... where the commander has an RPG map view and tells lower ranking first person players on his/her team where to fight. I've spoken w/ a game developer friend of mine ... he gives it 5 years before we'll see a networked football game with coaches and player roles.

Kinda makes you wonder if real football is becoming a relic of the past.

Already being done, man. You've got Savage which is pretty much a RTS game where individual players take on the roles of the units and you have a 3rd party giving orders and Planetside which is a massively multiplayer FPS. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of these in the future.

Tribes did this years ago, and i think it was sorely under-rated.
Even though the concept sounds awsome, online gaming has always been plagued with many immature players who like to ruin the experience. I wonder how well the "coaching" or "overlooking" role would play out if the majority of the players were too selfish to act as a team.

Well, Savage does it in a way that is your traditional Top Down resource gather game... you know the game, pick one of a thousand out there... Starcraft, AoE, Warcraft, etc. Did Tribes have the top-down mode? I can't remember... it's been awhile... I seem to remember a map of some sort, but I may be wrong there.

Speaking of Tribes... you guys hear of Tribes: Vengeance... developed and coded by none other than our great friends at Irrational Games? This time, it not only sports the MP game, but a single-player mode as well. And if the writing is anywhere as near the quality of SS2, this may be one to watch out for.

Kyosho brought up something to my attention a few months back. Natural Selection (a HL Mod) apparently does the same type of thing (RTS/FPS). Not too sure about mimicking Savage's resource gathering though. That definitely seems unique to me.

Hey Mike009,

I find Unreal Tournament a little bit better than UT 2003. I guess it's because UT had more competition and fun than its sequel game,
