Worst Wii injury till date

You keep reading about people getting hurt or hurting others while playing the Wii, but I think we have a winner for the worst Wii injury till date. Liz was minding her own business, blissfully playing the Legend of Zelda on her Wii when her boyfriend intervened to help her out with a boss fight, and then it happened.

Her boyfriend, Jim, who by the way is responsible for this 'accident' (I'm guessing he's going to be confined to the couch for a long time) gives us the lowdown on the events that lead up to this 'accident'. "The day our Wii arrived also happened to be when my work was holding our Christmas party. Not being one to forego free booze, off I went leaving the girlie to play to her hearts content. After guzzling a copious amount of 'wife beater' (Stella Artois) - I returned home to find the girlie in mid battle with a Zelda 'Boss'. In my inebriated state, it was instinctual to become her knight in shining armour. I proceeded to take the controllers off her and fight the beast myself.

Unfortunately, my courage was far greater then my skill. Having taken a good kicking, Liz then tried to intervene with disastrous results. She approached me from the side, appearing from my blind spot, whilst I was performing a slashing movement. I hit her with full force right in her eye!

I truly thought I'd blinded her and was almost about to call an ambulance but then her pain died down."

It's official, the Wii is a health hazard

You know what else will be coming soon. Lawsuit against Nintendo for making a hazardous controller. It good way to make money! I encourage people to sue for some quick cash. Class Action coming soon. Great way to make money from injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome. Get ready for increase insurance premiums. People will get injury and miss work and school, lost productivity

Now, Nintendo suggesting you spend more money for wrist strap. Good way to get more money out from you.

Well, with the arrival of Xboxster a few days ago, I was seriously wondering when the other idiot would show up. Lo and behold, Gamertoday has arrived.

FYI - Wii-motes don't cause destruction, spastic morons cause destruction. Or in this case, drunken spastic morons.

Glad to see you back. . .the one guy more stupid than Moody. "Nintendo suggesting you spend more money for wrist strap." . . . .hey STUPID, they are giving away for FREE stronger wrists straps to any owner who wants one. You know why I'm not bother to order another wrist strap? Because I'm not some sweaty clumsy fat-fingered f@ckhead who flings my controller into my wife's head in fit of drunken flailing.

So, you rornry little turd, you can sit in a corner frantically pulling your pud like an excited exhibition in the primate house over fantasies of "carpal tunnel" lawsuits all you want. But just remember, the Wii causes "carpal tunnel" no more than the thumb/button systems the other guys use. And is no more dangerous than moving around with the eye-toy, and Sony has motion sensing play now too. When cretins cash in against one of these companies, cretins will be trying to cash in against all of them.

If you love gaming, be careful what you wish for.

The only difference, Wii is not even a month old before people are getting injured. This just reported news. I can imagine a lot worst injuries existing.

You don't hear anything about other game console injuries especially so soon after the release.

I hope people Nintendo costing some millions.

Like I said, good way to get a free Nintendo Wii plus some $$. It would not be millions or even hundreds of thousands. It would be like $1000.00 little Maybe more or less.

If someone at bat is swinging at a ball and the umpire walked up into the bat's arc and got walloped, would he then have any grounds to sue the company that made the bat? Or if the batter was swinging at a ball and let go of the bat and it flew into a nearby parked car and broke it's windshield, is it the bat's fault?

I.E. at what point does personal responsibility factor in?

I realize that logic is wasted on you, but for the benefit of other readers I wanted a comparitive argument to put the situation into context.

Realize that this logic is wasted on the American judicial system, which lets a burglar who got injured falling through the roof win a case because the home owner kept his house in "ill repair."

Which is exactly why you are forced to cycle through warning screens about wearing your wrist strap and/or clearing a swing area around you.

This is another benefit of the American judicial system - all a company has to do is provide a written warning and they can pass the buck on liability. This is why cigarette companies can get away with selling nasty, cancer producing products that end up killing people - there's a little Surgeon General's warning on the package.

I'm sure you can, you little perv. And hey, you can sue afterwards too since Nintendo didn't specifically warn you not to use your Wii as a vibrating suppository.

Just out of curiosity, where does your extreme hatred of Nintendo come from? Even the anti-xbox crowd doesn't hate the Xbox and want to see it sued out of existence, we just don't care for the overall direction of its current game library.

I keep hearing all these big videogame sites refer to the whole videogame thing as "our culture" and "our industry". So what exactly is videogame culture? After reading this, it makes me think it's a bunch of nu-metal ricer wannabes that don't have the physical apptitude and coordination to swing a remote control in a 90 degree arc without causing massive property damage or killing a significant other.

"You mean I have to use my arms? What do they expect me to do next, yo? Stand up? **** that noise! STAIND RULZ!"

First of all.
That guy was an idoit, to hit his own girlfriend drunk. No law suit because he was under the influence

2nd of all
Your the bigger idoit for making claims about people having to buy new straps, when Nintendo is giving them away.

3rdly
Nintendo Wii comes with MULTIPLE warnings about the potential harm the Wii can do. You can not open the instructions manual without seeing it. Believe me, if u want to sue Nintendo for your own stupidity, its gonna be a tough case since they already identified the potential harm it can bring. Just like waving a bat, theres potential for harm.

4thly
Your an idoit.

5thly
Remember your dumb comments way back then, when you used to say Nintendo is a kiddy company, no gamer over 15 would want to get a kiddy system? Rmemeber? Just about every comment u posted was about Nintendo being kiddy stupid.
WHAT ABOUT NOW?!
Nintendo is slowly losing the kiddy image, THANKS to these injuries. I dont see your testosterone-filled Xbox360 hurting anyone.

6thly
Welcome back, dumb@ss.
