I figured I would make another post because there is a bit of a story behind this.



I have become an official Xbot...Originally my girl wanted to buy me one but in the end I just felt too guilty. She was having a tough time this month financially so I basically talked her out of it.

I did some thinking over the last week or so and realized that there are so many must have titles coming to 360 that I cannot ignore. I remember how addicted I was to my first Xbox and I'm getting that same vibe on this side too. So I made my final decision to get a 360.


Today I Called EB Games and they told me of this sick new promotion that if I trade in my old Xbox, they will credit me $100 towards a 360 with a free copy of GoW. He also informed me that RB6 Vegas is also included with every 360 purchase, along with the holliday bundle games, GRAW and Live Arcade disc.


I brainstormed for about 20 minutes and decided to refund my Wii and and trade in a bunch of old games. So I walked out of EB with a 360 "Sick Bundle" and my account never got touched...w00t.




As far as returning my Wii? I just found there was nothing coming out this year worth playing or keeping my interest for Wii. And the games were scoring poorly...Pretty scary too being a brand new system.

All I was interested in was Zelda...and I still have my Cube. Speaking of that, The Manager at EB was nice enough to refund my used Zelda in full and exchange it for the Gamecube version. This has been a good day indeed.




Now for the biggie...I'm honestly considering selling my PS3 on ebay. I really like it but there is nothing for it minus 2 or 3 games. I figured I might try to make a profit now and buy one next year. My 360 should keep me busy for many years to come. I could also use the $$ to help pay off my new flat screen.

Oh yeah, My Girl offered to buy me some other titles for my new 360. I asked for Kameo, PD0, COD3 and Splinter Cell....any other recommendations???

Congrats on the 360, and also on getting the GC version of Zelda (honestly, you probably won't miss the little things Nintendo tried to do to make it a Wii title. The GC version is still great...though I'm only 3 hours in).

As far as recommendations, Saint's Row and Oblivion are two from me, but only if you are already interested in the games. I wouldn't want you or your girl to buy a title that you may not like and end up trading in for a ridiculously lower trade-in price from Gamestop/EBGames (not a fan of that store chain as of right now).

I guess if you can make a profit on your PS3, it would be best to, as long as you can trust eBay.

Dead Rising, Gears Of War, DOA Extreme Volleyball 2, Capcom Arcade Classics 2,Elder Scrolls IV, and just about any other sports title should give you a good start.

I don't know how much you'll be playing PDZ, compared to COD3 and Gears.

Plus, you can download all the demos out for games on the Marketplace if you have a high-speed connect.

Don't know what they show in the demo but just wait- it's probably even more twisted than you think but in a funny way. Some of the visuals however are straight freaky/stoney. The magic circles challenges for example.

And good call on PD0. Stick away from that game for sure.

I am truly on the fence about selling it.....I just don't know yet...I really like it and I know how effin' cool it will be this time next year...

Saint's Row caught my eye, Oblivion is awesome but it's on my PC. I hear ya as far as Zelda goes. The Wii version was kul but I will still enjoy it on my Gamecube.

I accidentally erased "Sorry Gad" for my little Wii Dis session. I actually like the Wii, so much potential but I don't see anything that really catches my eye like Metal Gear and Bioshock do. Metroid, Red Steel and Mario Galaxy are it....so far. PS3 has nothing right now but I am already seeing must haves coming out for '07.

By Default I always pick up a nintendo system. I was really stoked about my Wii on the release day. Playing Zelda was like a Dream come true. Just days after my PS3 was in my home, there sits a tiny white odd looking little square. My PS3 was getting no use at all. Resistance just cannot compare to Zelda.

I'm with you on being reserved too, with Zelda being it's only saving grace and seeing nothing much on the horizon this year...and Red Steel bombing...I might just wait a bit longer.

That's your opinion man, MGS 3 as a game and Story was Epic (IMO). The control is what hindered it from perfection. Subsistance worked out most of the problems. The Splinter Cell series has the best control overall without question. The Story is a bit drab mind you. Double Agent seems promising.

I think if you have played the Metal Gear games since MGS on PS2 and followed the story (as odd as it may be) you just might appeciate where MGS 3 was headed.

Regarding the PS3 Sell thing, I would say:

1. If you're playing it safe, sell it. This is the smart thing to do, you get more money on hand, can buy a cheaper PS3 later when you need it (i.e. when the good games come out), and if the PS3 flops you win bigtime.

2. If you're lazy and rich (or otherwise have no other expenses), just keep it, use it to pirate Sony Audio CDs and put the resulting MP3s on your iPod, then reap the convenience benefits when the good games on the PS3 come out.

Who's to say the same thing wouldnt happen if one of those major games were ported from the 360 to the PS3? It could go either way. Game developers has to get those games done in order to meet the release date deadline. If you have one console thats easier to develop for against another that isnt easy to develop for what happens? You either have to hold on to both versions until they are both ready. Or you can release the version that is ready and take your time with the other version. These are decisions thats going to be made constantly.

Yes a dev will not care how hard it is to develop for a system. We do though. Because the longer it takes the longer we wait. Then when time starts to get away from them 9 times out of 10 a game gets rushed. And you know what happens when a game gets rushed? A not so quality product is shipped. And thats something none of us wants paying $60 bucks a pop.

Eventually this wont be an issue for Sony and the PS3 once game developers understands what they are dealing with. But I'm more interested in the things that these next gen consoles has in stored for us in the near future. I want to see things to make me say:DAMN!!! I couldnt get this from the PS2 or the Xbox! But for now we seeing some cool games from both consoles. I just want to see alot more.:)
