Xbox 360 WILL make it to 10 Million before 2007.

I have seen many posts saying that Xbox 360 can't make it to 10 million because "They would have to sell almost as much, in the 4th quarter, as they have sold in Q1-Q3 combined."

Well I have done some research on past system sales, and I can tell you....

That's exactly what they are going to do.

On average, Consoles actually sell just a tad more in Q4 than they do in Q1-Q3 combined.

here are the numbers that I got:

If a console sells 1,932,000 total from Q1-Q3, they will, on average, sell 1,988,000 in Q4 alone!

Xbox 360 sold around 6 Million as of Q3 2006, that puts them in a VERY good position.

Also, Japan is, believe it or not, going to be finally helping the cause because starting in early Dec. Sales are going to SKYROCKET in that country because of how many pre-orders have come in for the Blue Dragon Bundles. We're talking hundreds of thousands, instead of 4 thousand sold that week.

360 will sell more in Q4, it might even make 10 million. That's not the issue. The issue is whether it's going to outsell PS3 in the next 4-5 years. PS2 sold around 6 million units between the time it was launched and the time Xbox was launched. It then went on to sell more than 110 million units. So the first year really doesn't mean much in the long term.

Are there really "hundreds of thousands" of Blue-Dragon 360 bundle pre-orders in Japan??? I have not heard this. If true, that is HUGE news. Do you have a link? I'd love to read more about this.

I read that Microsoft was planning to produce only 100K of this bundle with 1,000-10,000 (depending where you read it at, but I think 10K is right) special edition bundles. From what I read these special edition bundles are the only ones that have sold out. I have links for that, but its easy enough to find. I think this post is a bit of an exaggeration. The price is reasonable enough tho... $250 core system, Blue Dragon, faceplate and some DG figurines and it is a smart card to play for the holiday season. Also I think it's the first 360 game that requires more than one disk.

But MS needs more than A rpg... they need a good rpg library. The xbox just didn't cut it, despite the tiny handful of good western rpgs. If they pull that off I'll get one.

And there's already the very average Enchanted Arms.

Hmm that's a longer list of RPG's for the 360 than I expected...might have to look them up. I already know I'm going to enjoy C&C better on the PC (in fact I WON'T be able to enjoy it on the 360).

There's also a game called Elveon, if I'm not mistaken. Still not a lot of JRPGs in the mix. JRPG is what the Japanese crowd want if MS really wants Japan to lap the 360s up. Xbox can still post the 10M figures from the Western block, but we'll see.
