Well...if you preordered...and if you're lucky enough not to have a bad code.

But damn is it ever impressive (http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nwn2_wip.jpg). I think Steve'll have a heart attack when he sees all the stuff you can do with this.

Me having yet more fun with it. (http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nwn2_scene.jpg) I call that scene "The Worst Birthday Ever."

I think we can rest assured that NWN2 is gonna have at least as big of a modding community as the original did. The engine is about 100x as flexable, the plugin system is gonna work wonders, and the editor (after the initial shock) is much, much richer.

It would be nice if they got NWN2 at least half way right, out of the gate. How many patches did they issue for NWN1? About 700? And I still can't get the original game to run without a few problems.

I never had any problems running it patched or unpatched.

LOL Creative as ever, I see Renz. I've had a couple of those parties before...

Looks great. Can you run any modules you've made? I'm curious, because I was watching a few running clips of NWN2 on Electric Playground, and the game had some serious framerate issues... Not like that will stop me from buying the game mind you. Damn, I need to get that GPU in a hurry now...

Any chance of uploading that to me Renz, or is there hoops you have to jump through to get it firs?. The promo wasn't on up here in Canada as I was told.

Let me see if there's any torrents. Nope. You'll my only hope renzi-wan!

Heh.

They released so many patches because they supported the community and all the features they implemented. That's hardly a critique; it should be an industry standard. The game as it stands now, does not even remotely look and play like the original. Damn, the last patch released not too long ago, implemented capes with proper sitting animations corrected. That's dedication! Let's hope Obsidian is as fastidious with their game as Bioware was.

Not yet. You'll have to have the actual game before you can jump in and walk around your maps. But it's not too big of a deal, since you can test most everything from inside the editor.

As for framerate, it seems pretty good to me. I'd say the game looks and runs roughly the same as Oblivion. That'll give you an idea of what to expect.

Sure. Gimme til later on tonight, I'll email you and see what we can work out.

But if you want to get it yourself in the meantime, the promotion is going on in Canada through Futureshop and (I think) EB/Gamestops up there. You'll have to take your chances and hope for the best that way, though. Some of the keycodes don't work, and the single FTP they're using is so swamped it'll take you about forever to get it.

It all depends on how lucky you feel.

Oh, and to whet your appetite a little more, a new little scene for you to enjoy. (http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nwn2_scene2.jpg)

Oh jeez. I'm going to be having WAY too much fun with that editor to bother even with playing! ;) Looks good, BTW. Now let's see what that building interior looks like! :) I'm glad you got it, and I definitely want it! It'd be nice to get some groundwork down towards a PW server, before the release (not to mention just practicing using the editor).

I'll be free most of the night. I need to go to the gym, but I should be back around 2000 EST.

I'm playing around with the interior tiles right now. Immidiate placement isn't quite as smooth as NWN was. Instead of just throwing down tiles and having them connect to each other automatically, you have to select each nook and cranny and make sure they connect. But the one big advantage is you can connect any tiles from any set, so you can have a house transition to a mine to a crypt all in the same map.

It's really more like the Dungeon Siege editor in a way...you'll see what I mean when you play with it.

Okay, post a message Renz when you want to fire this off to me!
