So I'm sitting here happily chugging my way through Empire at War (not bad, but needed mods to make it perfect) when I suddenly find myself longing for a engaging flight/space sim.
I grew up on flight sims. X-Wing (3.5 floppy version) was the first computer game I ever purchased and man! did I work the living hell out of it. I can still remember going through the campaign and killing 3 Star Destroyers with 1 Xwing. Then i moved on up to TIE Fighter and loved that game just as much.
After I got my feet wet on those, I remember installing games such as Strike Commander, all of the WIng Commander series, Freespace I and II, Privateer I and II, Starlancer, Freelancer and Falcon 3.0 (hated the graphics and sound, but loved the realism).
I've found myself checking nearby stores in various malls, but can't seem to find anything that piques my curiosity. I did try X2 (or was it X3) Reunion but it was on my old as dirt computer and played like crap.
As of late, I've tried to get into modern sims like Lock On and Falcon 4.0, but after a few
minutes of them they quickly get uninstalled and returned to the store as they just couldn't hold my attention.
I don't suppose any of you could recommend a decent flight/space sim?
