View Full Version : Expansions going up in price???
What is the deal with expansions now costing the same as the original product? I see Civ 4 expansion is 30 bucks and many others are also hitting this mark. The Movies expansion too...etc. This seems to be a bit too much cashola and I know I am cheap or as I like to call it...thrifty but still what happened to the 20 dollar expansion price we were used to?
I have passed on a few so far as even if I liked the game few expansions add enough to keep me interested for long. Usually it is just more of the same with a little higher difficulty thrown in to seem...new.

ya i paid 49.99 to get my g/f factions which is considered an expansion. Its a bunch pf BS if you ask me.took her i think less then 20 hours to get to the end of factions to!!
I'm not sure about the value of the Civ 4 expansion. Especially since you've got a ton of well-made user mods which throw out high-quality content for free. And I've never been that big a fan of "scenarios" in 4x games in any case.
Yeah, they're sandbox games and that's how I play em.
Expansions have to come down in price eventually. The problem is, they don't stay on the shelves long and sometimes they become hard to find even online. Not every game comes out with a gold edition.
