I gave Vince a rent. It started off slow and simplistic with cramped areas reminding me somewhat of BLINX but turns out, upon further exploration, this game is 10 times the game Blinx was!

Trust me, if you like platformers, give it a go.

Oh you know I got it! Got it the day it came out (had mine reserved)!

I really like it.

But I gotta ask you...
What do you think of the voice acting? In particular Vince's (everybody else's is fine, I guess)?

Am I the only one who can't stand the voice that they gave him?!?

Yeah, gotta go along with you on that one. The voice used for Vince is off, just doesn't fit the character. Too bad, because Vince has a lot of good lines. Awesome music track.

I haven't enjoyed a game like this in years. Bleeds atmosphere and suprisingly the mini games are VERY solid. I'm at the carnival now...the house of mirrors, I can't figure out if I made a circle or what but it's a bit confusing...also that Haunted House ride where you shoot the "ghosts" was interesting. Most places in this game really spring to life but other parts (a VERY few other parts) seem dull and lifeless. Overall, great artwork and high production values. I'd call it the best platformer this generation but maybe only cause I've not been exposed to JnD or RnC but I'd be suprised if they offered what Vince does on so many different scales...that propeller room level for instance, that map was HUGE and when I fell off and didn't take a life by falling in the water it would take a good 7 or so minutes to get back to the top. I suppose I'm near the end but when people talk about game length and the standards involved, it bothers me. It baffles me how EGM can give Mario3 on GBA rave reviews and not even mention the game can be downed in a half an hour. Meh...

Even though Blinx fell flat in many ways, I must admit, the 3 biggest Xbox exclusive platformers: Oddworld, Blinx, and now Voodoo Vince are in a league of their own in their own ways.

WEll, Finals this week, cramming sucks...I have a blister on my right middle finger from writing too many notes...all I've been doing is cram and play Voodoo Vince.

yea, and his voice isn't that great but the lines are usually spot on with timing...MOST of the time that is...

Yeah, I also love the game. The production values are amazing. I actually like the voice acting for Vince, though. The voice relays the game's inherant sarcasim very well, in my opinion. (You know, Vince is always exchanging humorous, sarcastic glances with you, the player, and saying sarcastic, funny things when he's confronted with something ridiculous, etc.)

Anyway, I think it's just challenging enough to still be very fun. The sounds and visuals are amazing. The level design in good. And the voodoo power concept is cool.

I'd definately give the game a solid B plus or A minus.

Oh yeah, the music in Voodoo Vince rocks!

I like it more than Blinx, but not by a ton. I actually LIKE Blinx! Yeah, I know, Blinx could have been better. The music could have been better. There should have been way more cutscenes and animations, the darn cat could have had some actual dialogue, etc. But I enjoy the challenge and I think it's fun!

See, that's what bugs me so much about his voice. Vince looks like Macauley Caulkin (yeah... you see it now, don't you), but he's got the voice of a man in his mid 30's! It just doesn't fit. And not just any man - noooo - but some grade-b, cross between a Christian Slater and a Edward Norton, wannabe a wiseass, sounding mf'er. It's terrible.

Especially when placed against the backdrop of the story: a youngish little doll facing big challenges in a big new world. I mean, how endearing is that? So what's with the angry-white-male-yuppie-azzhole-sounding dude?

Luckily, Vince's actions speak louder than his words. Vince is animated beautifully! Judging Vince strictly by his actions... I'd just about call him the most charming sonuva-b on the planet! His movements and body language express more wit and humour than mere words ever could. But still, it's too bad that couldn't have matched up the voice better.

when I first saw Voodoo Vince, I thought of Tweek from South Park...if the same guy would have done the voice it would have been better.
