Man, Fry's Electronics is proving to be a real source of imports. I finished Tales of Eternia and needed another RPG. A couple of new ones are due to be released, Blade Dancer (original to the PSP and network multiplay) and Valkyrie Profile, but they weren't on the shelf yet.

BoF3 (another euro-import) was, however, and after a couple of hours, I have to say that it's pretty neat. Takes about 30 minutes to suck you in, compared to five minutes with Eternia, and graphically and music wise Eternia has it over BoF, but BoF has some awesome gameplay elements right off the bat, without having to aquire them.

In any event, it's nice to see the PSP ascending to the RPG throne. Personally, if the majority of the new RPGs coming out are PS1 remakes, that's cool with me, because the PS1 had quite a few of the best RPGs of all time, and I never got around to playing many of them.

I hate to admit it, but regardless if the DS is crippling the PSP in sales, PSP is the RPG king so far and seems to be gaining momentum. I originally thought DS would have the most RPGs...I stand corrected!

I just picked up Valkyrie Profile today, haven't had a chance to play it. It seems to have decent reviews so far, only thing it seems to lack are extras.

How is Eternia btw? I really like Symphonia so far and if that's any indication....

The other RPG I want to snag is Poploclorus (Did I spell it right?) but it is really hard to track down!!

Eternia is awesome, but i would recommend waiting till the U.S release (Tales of Destiny or something) because the euro version has a few bugs. Control bugs, x button especially, move your guy, hit x, curse, repeat. It happened to me just a few times, but that was a few too many.

Popolocrois is good, but others are around that are better. I'm really jazzed about Blade Dancer, the online multiplayer looks to be very cool, tho I am concerned about hackers. My experience with online rpgs is if your char is not saved server side, that breeds cheating.

Valkyrie profile is very appealing too. Keep us posted on it. I heard it was like Castlevania, with jumping and stuff, but the battles switch to another screen, with an excellent battle system.

Sure thing, I'm going to start playing it tomorrow (at work...lol). I never had a chance to play the origninal back in '99!
When I purchased Vagrant Story back in march, I checked the price of VP on ebay and it was around $200+. This remake was a good idea!

I was about 22 hours into Tales until I got VP. Man it's as good as I remember. And yeah it has action elements and the battle system is real time/turned based hybrid that requires some serious study to master. I'm glad to read what you said about the controls on Tales Aylmer. I thought the controls seemed a bit sluggish compared to the GC controls, but I shrugged it off, but that's the only thing I don't like about it.

Popolocrois is a very easy rpg. Even the bosses. Play it for the story cause there's no challenge in it at all. But, it is a good rpg. I enjoyed it a lot.

I agree also that I thought the DS would be the one moving ahead in the rpgs, but the PSP is the place to be. BTW, if anyone hasn't played Kingdom of Paradise I'd recommend that one too.
