Both IGN and GameStop show that both games are shipping July 11. Is that great or what?

I figure that each game will fullfill a seperate gaming need tho'. Prey will most likely be all about the single-player experience, while Chromehounds will be all about Xbox Live.

So which game are you getting?

I picked Prey, and that's because I can't enjoy mech games. They just don't sit well with me. I tried the Mechwarrior and Armored Core games, but no dice.

I'm leaning towards Prey but may pass them both by and are still undecided on that title. I'll await a couple reviews or will play the demo before making my final decision.

Voted neither. I have more interest in LOTR:BME2 and NCAA 2007. Prey's a rental, imo, still very much a corridor shooter from the demo I played. There's some funky stuff going on, but the overall pacing is too slow. And it doesn't have the great atmosphere of a game like Condemned. Chromehounds, squad mech game. I can see this being fun, but you need to have friends who are also going to be picking it up.

July's another lean month. MS better start picking up the pace.

I voted neither. I honestly don't think I can enjoy either game. I tried the latest Armored Core, and that one didn't last 24 hrs. Prey, well, by now I'm sure most know how I feel about all FPS (they need a 3rd person option), so that's an instant pass. I'm waiting for NCAA 07 as well.

I will say this, though. It's good to see a few games being released during the summer. 360 is keeping with the same theme as the Xbox when it comes to at least having something to look forward to in the slow months (for some, at least).

Wow, you surprise me.

Speaking of 'passing by'... you let CK overtake you in gp's.(!) You're slowing down, man - you're slipping! :p

I can't compete with CK in that regard. He's got more time and frankly he's a better gamer (you see any of those high scores of his??).

I'll probably come around on Prey - too many current games to beat however. Gamerscore is keeping me in check a little bit preventing me from buying every last game and playing them for only a few hours. I'm more inclined now-a-days to play games I buy a little longer rather than moving onto something else every time a new, great game is released.

Anyone else feeling the same way?

Prey... the mech thing never did it for me... well i played a bunch of Eathsiege back in the DOS days... but since then I haven't been able to do mech games. I wonder if anyone else around here ever played Earthsiege.

Oh and as far as gamerscore goes... mine would be much higher if I could figure out how to get Dragon Quest VIII and Guitar Hero to post to it. :)

I'm going with an answer of both yes and no.

No- With a condensed list of games to get for the remainder of '06, I'm probably going to pick them up as they come along (unless something completely scares me from buying the game).

Yes- With the release dates on most of my games spread out a bit, I should be able to get in enough time with each game to enjoy even if I don't finish all of them, especially with a weak-looking November release (Too Human and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 360 version are two of the three games I'm looking at for that month...Zelda's the other but could be a Jan '07 purchase).

Well, I'm glad I asked. I thought a lot more of you would be getting Chromehounds.

I answered "both", but should probably change that to "neither". I do still want both games, and will eventually pick them both up, but I am so obsessed with Ogre Battle 64 (my previous obsession with Oblivion looks like a passing fancy in comparison!) that I doubt I'll have the time, or inclination, to play them for a couple of weeks.
