how can I get my armies built up fast in "Lord Of The Rings Battle For Middle Earth?"

I play online tournament play.It seems very hard to build up my armies fast cause I only start out with 1000 in resources.When I buy my buildings it seems harder to get my resources back.I do try to build alot of resource buildings but it seems like the enimies burn it down then I got to start over again.How many battle towers should I put up? Those are expensive cause they are 500.I like to build them first just in case my land gets attacked but when I do then I have no resources to build anything else.What do I build first?

People here unfortunately are not very into that game. This is an RTS, right? Rules for RTS are not all the same but generally turtling up in your base will lose you the game against competitive opponents.

Defense? Screw that. Build troops an ATTACK. That's what your enemies are doing, basically what you are doing by building defense towers is inviting them to build their offense and attack you.

Guess who loses out? In RTS, defense doesn't win you games, offense does. Be on the offensive, dictate the pace, and make your opponent reaect to your actions. That's the key to almost any RTS.

The key to doing this is to master a build strategy that pumps out lots of efficient troops that can destroy opposing buildings quickly. You either find this build out yourself through experimenting, or you download a FAQ from GameFAQs describing the build, then master it. Once you've mastered this build, use it, attack.

I found the game cheap so I may see if I get into it. I like the setting so maybe it will be one rts I will actually enjoy.

Can you build towers anywhere? One of the sneakiest strategies in RTS is to create a "defense" tower near the enemy base. Preferably near his peons gathering resources. That practically wins you the game if it works.
