For quite a while now i've been playing the free-to-play mmo scene, bouncing from one to another and each one i've played, and I mean everyone, theres a huge amount of cheaters and hackers.

The problems seem to come from asian grown mmos that try to use nprotect which is very easy to bypass so it seems, so far I have to say that Gunz: The Duel has the most hackers out of them all, but others such as Rakion and even Gunbound seem to have a huge amount of hacks, heck I even googled for them and found quite a lot.

So, heres the question? Why cheat? Whats the point to beat someone easily without that player having little to no chance in return? I have seen some pretty dirty tactics during my time playing online games but hacks and cheaters are pretty much the worst and in these free mmos, they are a disease. Even some people who don't hack I've still seen implore some pretty low down tactics and exploits - force lag being the biggest exploit, the worst is having high level characters join newbie/new player rooms, wipe everyone out (quick and easy exp/money) then leave, rinse and repeat. I guess koreans are to blame for some of these problems since the days of Diablo they have been in-love with pk.

I was (trying) playing Rakion earlier and again, similar style to Gunz just more sword play and again, another large amount of hackers playing, the problem with that game is its new and mega unbalanced, the archer is so deadly its pretty much banned in most rank games and the ninja is super weak, plus in pvp you get heavily ganked by peeps 8+ lvls higher who see you as fresh meat, its very hard to create private games since it has huge server problems and even trying to join games, often leads to being kicked because of lag.

I guess this is why you have sub fees for alot of the 'better' mmos out there, they most not nessarily better than some of these asia mmos, at least everyone starts out on a level playing field.

To summarise, I think this fledgling asia mmo scene is definately getting better and better in terms of the software thats coming out, sooner or later a real mega hit will land, but will it be ruined by hackers? Most likely the way things are going and thats the big shame.
