Have any of you had head set problems with the original headset. I can hear voices through the speaker but no one can hear me. If I try and leave a voice message I can't hear it when I replay it.
Also I've tried a few cell phone headsets and haven't had much better luck. Do you think it's the controller any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have it on Mute? Sometimes I turn on my Mute switch and forget it's not on when I leave messages. The message you left me was muted out.

If it's not the mute button like CK suggested, check your 360's settings. I typically only hear other players voices through my television/stereo whenever the headset settings are turned off or are set with some sort of limitation (like the play voice through TV option for example).
I have noticed however that the 360's headset isn't as strong as the XBOX's. Apparently they've decreased available bandwidth for future camera use which has negatively impacted the latency in sending/receiving voice during game sessions. Or at least that's what I heard on a previous Major Nelson podcast.
I've also noticed (or maybe this is just me) but the Plantronics X30 headset doesn't work as well as the standard 360 model. Kind of sad really because it's much more comfortable to wear. But ultimately it's the functionality that's important to me.
