Uh oh, both IGN and GameSpot agree, BioShock is the Best Overrall Game of the Show!

Hrmph, and they both agree that the Best PC Persistent World Online Game/Best Massively Multiplayer Game is Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. Guess I should stop laughing now then ,eh?

www.gametrailers.com gave Assains Creed it's Best of Show award. Though it's currently only announced for Ps3, this is Ubisoft, and I'd be willing to bet a $100 bill that if the game sells, it will have a 360 version next year.

Haven't seen the Bioshock trailer, but Bioshock is one of the heavily anticipated games on the PC side of the equation. Since no other PC game can really top it (considering Stalker is practically dead, Spore still a dream and HOMM5 just doesn't have the balls to break over it) I'm not surprised.

What's this Assassin's creed, I'd better go grab it.

Something about how its being made by those same guys that made prince of persia sands of time. After that game, they've been working on this for over 2 years. So a lot of anaticipation for it, and common, the name is kickass.

The trailers at gametrailers for this game are astonishing.

Hey now. Don't diss it just cuz it ain't Halo 3. You gotta give respect to the people that made System Shock 2, and want to do an even scarier/crazier game in the same vein.

What is System Shock 2? PC-only, I'm guessing? FPS? Scary?

Have any pics?

Think Half-life. I think it was released around that time too but I'm not sure.
but yeah it's a FPS for the PC and when I played it, it kinda scared me a gotta admit that. But then again I was more of a youngin when I played it.

HAHA! I guess I should expect that coming from you especially huh? anyway I'll probably end up checking this out so don't get bunched up yet! BUT it always comes down to the quesion....can my PC run it good?

Man, it's nothing like Half-Life. If anything it's more like a first person survival horror game.

And yeah, I'm thinking your PC will run it decently...but it's a newer game so you might have to chuck some things down a few notches.

System Shock 2 isn't anything like Half Life at all. The only thing they have in common is that they are both 3D first person games. It's a survival horror game in first person, with RPG elements. It's a non-linear game in that you run around a big space ship infested with monsters never knowing when you're going to run out of ammo or when your gun is going to jam.

Very heart-rending; if you guys had to get a comparison it plays kinda like Deus Ex (if you've played Deus Ex 2 you can compare it from that) but with the Resident Evil/Silent Hill kind of atmospthere.

My game of show would have been Heavenly Sword. From the demo, it looks like they've implemented a countering systems as well as on the fly weapon switching. Should be awesome.

Haven't really seen any of the trailers from this E3, but I am still looking forward to Heavenly Sword.

no need for tag teaming boys. well whatever you guys are the PC dudes so you should know more than me. But if you were going to compare SS2 to another game, what else would it be? I think that Half-life is a fair comparison.....

I'm not too sure if I saw heavenly Sword. Is it the one where they showed a demo of a girl fighting in a room with a lot of tables and chairs and breaky stuff? If so, it looks OK, but it might get to repetative like Dynasty Warriors.

SS2 and Half Life are both FPS and thats pretty much where the comparison ends. SS2 is an FPS but with a major RPG element to it. You are able to level up(I think), and you are also able to upgrade your character through cybernetic implants. The game is not a run and gun shooter. Creeping along is actually preferable so you can hear if there will be an alien zombie around the corner. Unlike Doom 3's come out of nowhere fright factor, SS2's enemies actually roam the halls patrolling their area. So if you are running around you will most likely end up with a piece of metal tube on your head. SS2 is more comparable to Deus Ex, just like what Mochan said. But with a Residen Evil/Silent Hill atmosphere.

Also its not in the silent hill/res evil category of horror. Its really unique like a cyber-techno futuristic horror with tripped out music and pacing that gets your heart going as u play. It really is a unique game though I thought the original was much better than the sequel. I played through the original couldn't seem to get through the sequel.

Hrmm, yes that's the one. Although you should check out the demo they showed off during Sony's press conference. Just like in DMC or Ninja Gaiden, it makes a ton of difference when you watch someone who knows what they're doing, play the game. And that's really how I would categorize the game as rather then a Dynasty Warriors knockoff.

Like I said, Deus Ex is the closer game. Half Life is nothing but a straight shooter (the major reason why I have always dissed Halflife). SS2 is non-linear, has RPG elements, is more of survival horror game than FPS, and has multiple solutions depending on your character build. There are a gazillion games closer to SS2 than Halflife.

As mandark said, you do level up, and not just that, you actually have to build your character from 3 different classes (either straight marine, ops or psionic, or a mix of anything in between).

BTW -- I posted before I read Renz's post (as I was reading downwards) so it wasn't exactly tag-teaming.

I liked the original better too, in some ways, although the sequel just looks so much better. I mean, the original came out as a 3D game in a time when 3D processors weren't even invented. Beautiful it wasn't! But the sense of impact and motion in the original System Shock was almost unreal for its time. However SS2 managed to create an atmosphere that blew away the original's thanks to the incredible sound. Looking Glass was always the best when it came to PC audio.
