I'll be picking up a Wii in addition to already owning a 360. I'm going to take a wait and see approach with the PS3 and will probably cave eventually. It will take a price drop or too many good games to ignore before I make that purchase.

I'll come back to this after E3 is officially over. Last thing I want to do is shoot off my mouth before Capcom shows Devil May Cry 4 or god forbid Street Fighter. If anything's gonna make me waste that much money on a PS3, Capcom would be it.

I'll probably be getting the PS3 and the Wii.

I'll eventually own all three unfortunately. I'll definately pick the Wii up at launch. But unless something monumental happens tomorrow, It'll be a long while before I pick up a Ps3.

Already got the 360. :p

The Real Thing, Best Faith album ever!

You like Mr. Bungle?

Who doesn't like Mr. Bungle?

I don't know about TRT being the best, I'd have to say that goes to King for A Day, Fool for A Lifetime. Even though it was after they had their Zappa-looking guitarist, it seemed to be the one that truly defined what FTM was. Notable tracks include Evidence, King for A Day, Cuckoo for Caca, The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, and well, the rest of the damn CD!

Anyways, I'll eventually get all three, but I'll end up waiting for the big gunz to get released before I get the PS3. Wii is a no-brainer. Exite Truck all the way, baby!

360 still has a chance for me actually; depends on what other games are coming down the pipe. Right now I don't need it since *most* of its best offerings are also out on PC, but it looks like MS is pushing hard for more exclusive content. With enough good exclusives (non FPS though) I could see myself caving in.

The Wii is probably going to be the first console of the three that I will be getting, if for nothing else due to its price (assuming the price is right). Compared to the other 2, it would almost feel like buying a party favor.

PS3 and Xbox 360. Since I already have the 360, the PS3 will be the other system for me. Unfortunately, the price is more than I would ever want to pay for a console. I drew the line at $399, though I had a feeling it would be more with the Blu-Ray player included. Oh, well.

Whenever the price goes down, I'll definitely look forward to a PS3.

I'll be getting the Wii at launch or shortly after. Don't have as much time to game anymore so I may never get the 360 or PS3. This last generation I started with a PS2 at launch...then got an Xbox....sold both this last year and got a Cube. Don't think I'll be making my rounds for the coming generation. The Wii is just too darn intriging not to get. I'd have to say the 360 is next on my list though. The PS3 just seems like it's too much...600 frickin' dollars...I'm sure it'll sell but it seems a little risky.

The Real Thing, Best Faith album ever!

Angel Dust excels far beyond The Real Thing in every way. It was so great that when record execs heard it they didn't want to put it out and declared Angel Dust "career suicide."

Bungle rules. I count my lucky stars I got to see them live.

As to which console, the Wii for sure; even if TMG is right and it dies an early death, there's already enough in the pipe to be worth the price of admission.

The other two I keep getting pulled back and forth. Part of the pull on 360 for me is it's out now and I keep wanting to get it NOW. And upcoming Fable 2, Too Human, Pinata. . .and of course Culdcept Live. And the likely better price.

But Ps3's ripping off Nintendo has me looking back at that system to see if they'll implement the new control in a significant way. Despite lack true 3-d spatial technology, just think of simple things like tilting to lean into a corner in a Jetmoto or motorcycle style game. There's so many ways that with Ps3 and Xbox getting so many of the same style games "traditional genres with realistic graphics" that a control edge for Ps3 could mean a lot.

Why did they have to go with the same damned ugly ergonomic abomination as controller though? The Dual Shock sucks.

I agree with CK that King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime is FNM's best album. I love the way it covers a ton of different genres. Angel Dust is my second favorite however and I'll never forget the way it surprised me when I first heard it (a pleasant surprise at that). They were becoming so huge and therefore commercial until AD came out and shocked the entire industry. Crack Hitler is my fave FNM song and obviously a track off AD.

Sorry to side track but I couldn't resist the FNM discussion :)

Even my wife wants a Wii, so... a Wii.

Now I also want a 360, surprise, surprise. I think I'll wait for a nice price drop for it, but I think a 360 will work nicely as my mainstream console of choice. I wish there would be some news about a 360 version of Crimson Skies, though.

I'd wait until the PS3 is bargain basement cheap, if ever. Other than the blu-ray playing abilities, there is nothing of interest for me here.

I love King for a Day, but with Roddy Bottum almost entirely absent and Trey Spruance on guitar, it doesn't feel much like a FNM album. Also, while KFaD has some truly great tracks, it doesn't cohere conceptually the way AD does. . . it's too much of a squeezed out mish-mosh. Great songs, but not much thought put behind the album.

That's exactly what I love about it. Oh well, to each his own I guess.

That's exactly what I love about it. Oh well, to each his own I guess.

It's what I love about Patton's and Spruances work in general, and Zorn's as well, the genre-jumping even within an album; but take something as disparate as Bungle's Disco Volante. . .that is an all-over the place mish-mosh of styles, but they cohere. It's like making a soup where everything suspends properly. To me, King for a Day is nearly great, but it's like a soup where the fat separated and floated to the surface.

LIke you say, to each his own. I'm just always glad to know there are other fans of this great music out there. Check out Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Check it out NOW. You can listen to Sleep is Wrong and 1997 at their website.

Thanks for sharing the SGM recommendation. It has a very Bungle-esque quality to it which is cool.

I prefer The Real Thing for nostaliga. This albulm, along with Appitiete for Destruction and Master of Puppets, was really the beggining of my love affair with music. I can still remeber the first day I heard this albulm.

It may not be the best albulmFaith released, but it's so important to me, that I consider it their best. Epic, Falling to Pieces, and Surprise! You're Dead !, we're, and still are, amazing songs that shaped, and changed, my narrow view on music. But all of FNM's stuff is great... One of the most under-rated bands in the history of rock imo and one of the few that fused hip-hop and rock successfully.

I love that there's people who love their stuff as much as I do. This board is slow as hell, but a lot of you guys share my taste in music, games, and movies. Which is probably ther only reason I'm still around.

Well, I know I'm not one of those guys (that share your tastes, SR) but you can throw me in with the rest of the lot who like FTM.

I just can't believe there's been hardly any mention of Angel Dust.(!) Leave it to Gadfly...
Better than The Real Thing...? Errr, that might be pushing it. But I would say they're about equal.

Man, you aint kidding. I hate the Dual Shock. The batarang's design certainly had me scratching my head, but I was still hopeful that they could, and would, tweak it. But either way, I thought for sure that they were done with the DS. I can't believe that that's what they fell back on! The batarang, as it was, was a deal breaker - but the Dual Shock... that's even worse, imo.

And, uh, I don't we know if we should be calling it the Dual Shock anymore. :blush2:
(Nixing rumble... what a colosal blunder!)

I guess I can totally see where you are coming from there, then. There's a nostalgia factor for me too with those exact three albums you mentioned. With Real Thing, I'd have to add the goofy "Under Water Love."

"Best" as in most accomplished, polished complex, powerful, layered themes both musically and lyrically, all the intellectual ways we experience music. . . those things must bow to the power of something that first formed a core, primal musical experience. I heard Van Halen III (women and children first) before any of their other albums, and the tingling power of the album was something that I never quite got from any other album they did. One of the reasons I picked up a guitar in the first place.

LOL Wow. I love the title track, but I think the rest of the album sucks. You do have Linger Fickin' Good, yes?
