I think you'll have to look on the PSP section for Killzone. Ha-hA!

Yeah, and I think everybody needs to go back and change the grade they gave to Sony after last years E3.

The games that were there from last year, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Warhawk, all met their targets.
BTW, there's some new Motorstorm screenshots out there. They just haven't shown off the game in trailer form.

True but those games did get the buzz Killzone and Motorstorm did. And quite frankly those games don't look any better than 360 games GOW real time looks better than all of them. Motorstorm and Killzone looked leagues away better than anything anywhere. And they no showed. Because it was B.S. and you know. Even the Motorstorm footage at the GDC was downgraded.

I watched Gears of War, it does not look better then Heavenly Sword or Resistance. And btw, Heavenly Sword and Resistance got quite a lot more 'buzz' then Motorstorm at last year's E3. It was Killzone that was the real culprit but if FFXIII and MGS4 are to be believed, it won't be too far off the mark when it is released.... in 2009.
On the 360 side, the title you need to be pimping is Lost Planet. That looks awesome and animates beautifully unlike Gears of War. Hope Capcom ports it to PS3. I was hoping they would show a bit more of Too Human but the footage at gametrailers does not do that game any favors. It doesn't animate half as well as Heavenly Sword and combat seems pretty clunky.
I've been looking at gametrailers all morning and PS3's best at E3 pretty much have little competition. Ironic considering that 360 is showing off second gen titles and is supposedly easier to develop for. Lost Planet is the only 360 game I've seen thus far that has everything put together cohesively.

You seem to be going by on artistic merits and animation. Neither of which is a real indication of system powers. From a technical standpoint the PS3 games do not look better and from a technical standbpoint nothing looks better than Gears of War on the PS3. Resistantce looks ok but it doesn't look all that I don't even have the slightest interest in this game. Heavenly Sword does look better but the developers last game Kung Fu chaos was decent I'll take a wait and see approach. So far haven't seen any mind blowing Too Human footage but all the hands on reports seem positive.
PS3 may have more power but I think the difference won't even be of the level of Xbox to PS2.

The Lost Planet demo is sick, but as far as animation and graphics, GoW is looking better. Maybe a bit RE4-ish? It also kind of reminds me of this game on the PS2 called Kill.Switch, where it was a duck-and-cover type of deal. I had always wanted to play the whole game(I played the demo), and GoW looks to be what that game might've been times 20.
Lost Planet is great, though, from what I've played. I would be playing a lot more FPS if they were 3rd person views. Enemies and explosions are huge, and there seems to be non-stop action on foot and in the mechs. The bosses were also really big, and oh-so-hard.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is simply the craziest thing I've seen so far. Raiden looks like a bad-ass. Snake looks like death breathed on his neck, and the story looks to top Snake Eater, which was truly a great emotional tale. I have no doubt that Guns of the Patriots will look every bit as good as the new trailer looks, also. MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmm, graphic whory-ness.
I haven't seen much else of the PS3, but all I was looking for was Guns and maybe DMC4, Silent Hill 5, and any possibilities of some shmups. A little bit more Tekken 6. 20 second trailers don't cut it with me. And really, the graphics weren't that much better than Tekken 5, when comparing the power of their respective systems.
Hey slade, did you hear that God of War 2 will be implementing cancel into their fighting engine? I can't see it(the cancelling) being better than DMC3, unless they give Kratos better on-the-fly weapon swapping. They are also taking a page from DMC and including a fast "ranged" weapon, similar to Dante's gunz. At the least, it'll be an improvement over part one. Will you be getting it?

Animation routines are a part of technical merit. Furthermore, it doesn't really matter if artistry is used in such a fashion. I'd rather a game that looks great because of artistry then a game that looks great based purely on technical merits. In Gears of War, we're still looking at a title that animates poorly compared to something like Lost Planet and Lost Planet's particle effects and use of motion blur put it over the top. BTW, have you tried out the demo for Lost Planet yet?

Nope, haven't heard about this. I've been too busy with the next gen consoles. BTW, you might want to check out the Heavenly Sword demonstration vids. I was watching them this morning and it looks like they are implementing on the fly weapon switching.
Also, a month or two ago, they discovered jump cancelling in DMC3. I've got some of the vids. Awesome stuff and it shows people staying up in the air indefinately. I'll post the vids if I can find them again.
Edit: BTW, Tekken was a complete disappointment. I can't believe how far Namco's fallen. After the debacle their titles have been on the 360, I thought their PS3 showings may turn things around but it didn't happen.

No I haven't I actually don't even have my 360 yet. Long story but come June 6 I will have it.
This is going to sound real shallow but I really wasn't paying much attention to this game for the life of me why I can't think of the reason but it reminds me of Dino Crisis 3 so I have some kinda weird negative vibe from this game. Second the trailer that starts of Space pirates start your engine just sounds so typically Japanese corny that I lost interest. But I have gone back and looked at the trailer what really grab me is the movement through the snow. It looks really good unlike the thing where they just were walking on normal ground with a white texture.
You are right about animation as good as Splenter Cell Double agent looks the animation routines seem to not have change from previous games and it shows the game moves terribly and I'm a huge S.C. fan.
P.S. Alan Wake is now Xbox/Window exlusive. Looks intriguing would like to see some gameplay though.

In general, Japanese developers are light years ahead of Western devs when it comes to animation. Whether the hardware is outclassed or underpowered, the average Japanese developer will typically outclass the average Western developer. And when we go to the top tier devs, there isn't even a comparison.
Western Devs on the other hand tend to outclass their Japanese counterparts on technical merit. This probably has to do with being able to work with better hardware on the PC platform.

Same here, this game has piqued my interest ... closest to gameplay footage there
is on the Net, is the movie built using the in-game engine. Anyhoo, right-click

That's the great thing about LIVE, demos!
I downloaded this demo with much much anticipation. I think the game is a disappointment. The graphics aren't bad, but they are definitely a knotch below all the other games you guys mentioned. The animation is NOT great, the main guy has that BruteForce-esque hip design where it looks like he has a log up his azz. But the game itself is nothing special. I played both missions on the demo and I was like that's it! Its just a basic shooter, in fact a basic 3rd person shooter. The enemy AI is horrible, the insects are boring and not a threat at all. But the biggest disappointment is when you get into the mobile armor the control is the same and the shooting is the same, there aren't any special mech controls or mech interface, you move and play just as you do on foot. The reliance on snow just seems to be a cheap way to get around making an interactive level. This is basically just a boring bug shooter and when you do fight humans the AI is soooo last generation.
Reading that I know it sounds like i'm down on the game, but not really, it is just NOT as nextgen as they claim, and I was having fun. At first, I was like this is weak, but then they through in some giant insects and some flying insects. The flying ones remind of a 3D galaga or galaxian they come at in these crazy patterns. Maybe there is a lot more to the game I don't want to kill it based on two levels. If they released the game in the summer or early fall, it will do well. If they wait till XMAS it is gonna be forgotten fast.
Test Drive Unlimited though is SWEET! I am happy the demo has lived up to the hype. This game is gonna be sweet online. Too bad they put a 15 minute time limit on the demo. The demo itself is huge with like 40 miles of Hawaii, the real thing is supposed to feature over 1000 miles!! That is insane. The homes are sweet, the characters models look great, and they are customizable down to the clothes. But the gameplay is brilliant, u can setup check point races in four steps. 1) Challenge an opponent 2) set the start marker 3) set the end marker anywhere on the island 4) hit okay. When u race a check point race your GPS tells u which turns to take. The traffic makes things really interesting. The cars are definitely on the realistic side, and the cockpit view is sweet. In fact u can change the interior leather etc and the wheels with all the real life new car options. I wish this game would hurry up and get here.

From what I've seen of Lost Planet, the game is not going to be for you TMG. It's far too old fashioned in terms of gameplay to appeal to you just like Gears of War is too much duck shoot, duck shoot, rinse and reapeat for me.
BTW, Motorstorm made it to E3. They just brought it in today too. Impressions on most major sites.
