There are rumours circulating that you must be using Windows XP to transfer files from PC to Xbox...THIS SUCKS! How lame is that?!
I';ll try to find a link on this asap.

Well... just what OS are you running anyhow?
(Are you sure you're not a MAC person? :D )
P.S. What in the bloody blue blazes is that thing in your pic?!?
I remember Pong, Atari 2600, and Intellivision... but I've never seen that thing before!

it's actually a Magnavox Odyssey 200 released in 1975, the 2nd console ever made(the first was the original Odyssey in 1972). I have one up in the attic...in fact, I'm gonna go up there and grab it right now...I've got that urge...
you have to have that weird connector for old antennas to play it and it runs off of batteries.

Windows 98?!? What the...?!?
So you're telling me... that all this time that you've been talking up the XBox and XBox Live - telling us how great they are, and how much you love them - you haven't (even) been supporting Microsoft?!?
You're killing me, man!
(And them too.) ;)
And, oh yeah... thanks for links! Those were cool reads!

^- there is the link proving my topic...
Anyway Glock, right now, I'm using a P3 450MHz, 128 Megs, 64 Meg Geforce2, and a 13GB HDD...it's from 1999, so yea it's old. I have been holding out for a AMD64 which is currently being released(complete with a 1.6GHz FSB). People who are suckered into getting new 32CPUs have no idea what kind of hole they are digging for themselves. I've stuck with Win 98(and Office 97) for all this time simply because of this: my system is slow and Win 98 is MUCH easier on system resources than XP and also Win 98 has the same capabilities as XP as far as what I use it for...Xp is just "dumbed down". When I finally get my new system, I will probably be using my current machine as a Linux firewall among other things. People talk crap about Compaq but I poop you not, I've not had ANY problems with this computer in almost 5 years of CONSTANT usage....guess it wasn't made on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon eh? The only modifications I've given this PC is the video card, which I never even use anymore because I rarely game on my PC.
And I DO support MS, without MS we would NOT have the standardization we have in the PC world today and standardization is the most important aspect of any technology for not only MS, but the other companies and most importantly...the CONSUMER.

and I've got plenty of friends with XP so I'll just burn me a nice MP3/pic cd and bring my Xbox to their house if the MIXER turns out to be a good thing.
and this topic wouldn't be complete without this link...

Tap, you are the man!
The links you provide are awesome.
Though the MM ones were only a little informative.
They both raise a lot of questions:
1) Is system linking your XBox to your PC the only way to transfer files - in particular, songs? Especially MP3's. Or can you burn the files/songs to a disk and have the XBox's PC copy them just like it does now?
2) The karoake song download site is a good/neat idea. The big question here is... how much? If it's not too much, I wouldn't have a problem paying it.
The stupid music companies could learn a listen or two from this - if done right. Hell, something like is something that they should have done long ago! Instead of killing Napster they should have came up with their own sites to download their music from! They could have charged a small memebership fee - like $25 for a year - and people would have payed that. The companies would have made a little bit of money too. It would have been a lot better than dumping/wasting millions of dollars in their court fights! Morons.

Not too bad, especially if you get one that you really want. Now you don't have to pay full fee for just one song.
Now the big question is: will you be able to use these downloaded songs for your other games ... i.e. will I be able to use these as custom soundtracks for my racing games?
