So apparently Nibris is doing something that hasn't been done since the original pong home console.

"Exclusive Nintendo Revolution title *Sadness* will be fully.. black and white!

Nibris decided to follow Nintendo’s path, which definitely fights the stagnation which has occurred in video games, and creates new trends. With this move, we want to create a unique environment, which is only available in Sadness, says Lukasz “CassSept” Oskard, a Nibris employee. But Nibris are not following the trend created though Sin City, but rather a game which is set pre-World War. More information on Sadness will be available soon."

Sort of an odd decision if you ask me, but if it has a creepy art style it might get me interested in it.

I'm totally down for B&W gaming. It's actually my little guilty gaming pleasure. When I was young and poor, a 13 inch B&W tube was all I gamed my Nintendo on, so I still like to go back to the style of the olden days just to be stupid. I played all of Shenmue 2 in B&W. Awesome that the game gave me the option to. I've also played every game I own in Black and White at least once. The Warriors was a good one to play that way. So was Contra and Gradius V for the PS2. Eternal Darkness. The 2-D Oddworlds and SotN. Good stuff.

Come to think of it, i played Nintendo NES wayback then, err 90-95. I gamed on a black and white tv set in my parent's room. 5 minutes in the game u forget it was in colour.

However, that was a long time ago, i perfer colour, having an option is good, but dileberatly making it black and white seems odd unless there it is really good element that adds to the gameplay. And i dont want to hear that the TV sets back then displayed visuals in black and white.

I've never gamed in b&w. Sadness seems more like an art-film sorta idea in a modern game, rather than a throw-back to old tv's. I'm all for it, as long as the game is also fun to play. Based on the way they've released info, they've had a visual concept first and foremost.

Kind of a bizarre concept, but I think it would be cool if some developer made a retro, 1950's style survival horror game in black and white.

But playing color games deliberately in b/w is kinda... weird, Cuddly. ;)

An entire game in black and white? It had better REALLY fit the theme and story like a glove, and be damned compelling, or they are going to have a hard time drawing in anyone but the compusively curious.

But playing color games deliberately in b/w is kinda... weird, Cuddly. ;) Definitely weird. The already high esteem in which I hold this guy just continues to grow. I really want to hear the music he does.

I'm thinking a game based off of all those 1930's and 1940's horror games would be pretty appropriate for b/w. Like Creature from the Black Lagoon, or Dracula, or Frankenstein, or the Mummy, or you get my drift - there is just something about those old movies that retain a creepy quality and I think part of that is due to them being in black and white.

I gamed in Black in White on Atari 2600 Hell I got so used to I actually thought the games were in black in white. Then my 2600 got stolen and a year or 2 later I got a NES and we had a new television and my first memory of Nintendo games were that they were in color.

If I ever have to game in black and white again I would rather just shoot myself.
