Think again. Not that it's bad perse. It's presented and compared to strategy rpgs, but it has more in common with Romance of the Three Kingdoms. That's a very niche game (series), and so is Generation of Chaos. But I'm very sure more professional reviews are going to slam this game with great fury.
While it looks great and sounds great (there's voice acting) there is absolutely no tutorial, even though a character in the game says they will walk you through a tutorial. I mention that because GoC has an insane learning curve. Reading (or I should say, studying) the manual is a must. It actually plays more like a sim. Even though the battles are real time, it is sort of like the early Suikoden battles where you select a strategy and watch it play out. There is a ton of management to do on the battlefield and in your kingdom. So, if anyone is considering picking it up, be warned. If you liked Three Kingdoms, lots of strategizing and lots of infrastructure management, then you may dig it.... otherwise it's probably going to suck.
