Has this happened to anyone else, and have you ever found a solution?

I start the game up and it plays properly. Then once I close the game and go back to Windows, if I try to start the game up again I get an error report from Windows (the type that asks you to send feedback of the problem to MS) and the game stops. I can only get it to work again if I restart my PC, and then it will work once and never again until I reboot again.

This was during patch 1.33 but it was working a few months ago with that patch, honest. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, maybe all the tweaks I did to it screwed the game, but I still get the same problem. Any ideas?

I've usually gotten those annoying Windows "send error report" messages when something crashes during an FMV. I hate those errors, they're so stupid and useless. They should just say "Windows effed up again, send us ur report so we can put it in the recycle bin".

Indeed! Well, looks like the errors you got is different from the one I got. It's really a weird error; the game simply refuses to start again after it has had its run once. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing for the problem; this leads me to believe the issue is with my PC's configuration.

You can turn those error reports off if you wish. Just let me know if you want to and I'll post how when I get a little more time. I prefer them on mostly though, since it gives you an "escape" Window to ALT+TAB to in case you need to manually shut the game down (as opposed to a hard reboot).

Yes. Thanks to Moya who obviously has a bit more time than me. :)

Yeah, man, my time is expensive! I demand reimbursement for the 10 seconds it took for me to type "disable windows error report" into Google and click on the second result. ;)
