sorry to hear of your loss, jupiter. Yes, you really need to keep track of the little memory cards. I have the Duo for the PSP, as well as CFs (Compact Flash) and SDs (Secure digital) for other things. I will be getting a larger Duo soon. I bought a 128 meg when I bought the PSP, and now I find 2gig cards for $150 US. My wife and I combined gift cards from Xmas and we bought a portable DVD player, so I can run the output from that into my PC via a Pyro box, then use the PSP Media Manager software to convert it. A 2 gig stick will allow me to have four movies on the PSP at a time, plus game saves.

There will be a 4gb and 8gb card for the PSP available from Sony soon, unfortunately it will probably cost as much, if not more, than a PSP. Don't buy the 4gb harddrive attachment, it is a battery hog and requires the 4x fat battery as well to be effective, that bloats the size and weight of the PSP up so much that dragging around a PS2 and monitor would be less trouble.

I'm gonna opt for a 2gb stick from newegg for $134. That will allow me a couple of hi encoded movies or about a dozen or so half hour anime episodes depending on the encoding, with room for all my music, art and game saves.
BTW, I wholeheartedly recommend Sony's media manager. That thing will compress a 4gb dvd down into about 600mb and retains the quality. It takes about 3-4 hours to encode but I don't know of anything else that compresses that well and retains the video quality. While Sony says it doesn't support .vob it actually does. Rip it with something like dvd shrink and you're in business.

Thx for the tip. I had a feeling that might be the case....I grabbed a 1 gig stick again anyway!
