Ok, I'm tired of reading about the NEXT GEN and want to join in. I have a birthday coming up and looking to get a 360. How should I start this near impossible quest?

I don't know, man. I was maybe the luckiest guy. I walked into Wal-Mart last week expecting to pick me up a game or two for my XBOX and PS2, and I walked out with a brand new 360 Premium. They had that one and a core system. Methinks that MS is still giving them out to stores, or that the stores have had a bigger number than what was said, and that's why occasionally they pop up out of nowhere.

BTW, I sent you a friend request, if you ever want to game it up. I usually only play DOAU and Burnout 3 online, but I also have Doom 3, SC:CT, Halo and a coupla others.

Thanks for the suggestions, but that's too simple an idea for someone like me to think of. Actually, I'll start walking into stores and ask around and hopefully get lucky. Thanks for the invite. If I don't reply soon, don't take it personally. I haven't been on LIVE lately and I'm playing catch up on the show 24. I have to finish season 4, so I can start this current season.

I was told by a Gamestop employee that customers are coming in and buying HDDs from there and EB because the local Target seems to get in core 360s regularly. He also claimed that at one time, Target had 6 on the shelf at once, though I don't believe that one.

I do believe that some stores do get 360s in almost weekly, and if you stake them out at the right time, you can get a hold of one. A Best Buy greeter even told me the exact day they would get in some 360s, but I couldn't take advantage of it.

I am eager to join the Next Gen too, but that itch isn't going to need scratching until March. From the latest release dates, it appears that Oblivion and Saint's Row are coming in March/April. If there's no more delays, that itch will go from needing one of those back scratchers to a freaking rake, because I really want those two games.

Joquito, did you catch the first 2 days of 24?

No, I just finished season 3 and just watched the first 2 episodes of Season 4 last night. My wife and I watch 2 episodes a night, with the hope that we will only miss 4/5 episodes of season 5. My buddy has been TIVOing this current season, so I can catch up.

I first got hooked on 24 when FX ran the first season in real-time after the season had just ended on FOX. I watched 13 hours straight; No Lie! I don't think they won any golden globe awards this year, what a shame.

I'm in the process of watching season 5 while also watching season 1 on syndication.

I started watching it at the beginning of season 3, after failing to watch in the middle of season 2. It's hard to get into the show halfway through the season, but if it's watched from the beginning, it will have people hooked. I have a hard time recording the show. Being able to fast-forward through the commercials kind of takes away the suspense for me, for some reason. Probably has to do with the constant timer shown. With Buffy and Angel off the air (at least for new episodes), 24 is the only one I'll free my schedule for.

13 hrs straight? I had my fill for the week after 5 hrs in 3 days.
