I just tried out Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. The game looks okay so far, seems fun. It's a totally mediocre shooter if we're talking straight shooter but it incorporates a squad command system which spices things up. Not quite SWAT 4 but it's a similar concept.

However, no matter what I do, I can't seem to turn Anti Aliasing on. There is no in-game control for it so I had to use the NVidia Driver, but the toggle just won't work. It's very frustrating. I suppose I'll have to live with no anti-aliasing.

Has anyone here played this and managed to turn Anti Aliasing on?

One other thing I noticed about this game. I think much of its appeal relies on its approach of "showing war is wrong" and all the melodrama that goes along with it. This isn't intrinsically wrong or anything but personally I hate it and I find that the game is just a little TOO overbearing in how it crams down your throat how "sad it is that your brothers are dying" and all that junk. I always had a thing against WW2 stuff and this just reminded me why.

I'm not saying I'm a desensitized oaf who doesn't give a damn if people die, but really this is just beating my head with the angst stick. Thank goodness we were spared this kind of rhetoric in Call of Duty and Silent Storm, else I would probably have hated those games.

Couldn't find it myself. I'm mixed about this game. Seems like they added the swearing in the game for "shock-value" and seems so contrived... almost like they're trying overly much to impress the XBox teennieboppers.

As well, not being able to save anywhere sucks ass, as does the fact that you'd think only the Americans fought in WWII. It's SO full of American history that it's almost a turn-off for me in those regards. It would have been nice to read up on war history, not American war history.

Now the game does have some merit, and I can see that maybe on a higher difficulty setting, it could be challenging, but the strategy implementation seems almost like an afterthought as well. Still maybe MP would or could be fun?

I picked this game up and Full-Spectrum Warrior, and neither have overly impressed me much with their presentation or gameplay. Very consolish if you ask me. Almost like war-games for dummies...

I posted a thread on it in SysWars. My impressions pretty much were that it was the bastard son of SWAT 4 and Call of Duty, but not possessing the attributes that made both games great. It lacks the finesse of SWAT 4's squad control, and it lacks the intensity of Call of Duty. What is it left with? A try-too-hard-to-be-Saving-Private-Ryan-or-some-other-movie attitude.

Overall I'm not impressed.

I tried the demo of FSW and know it had some good reviews but it is just not my cup of tea. I passed on both these games and prefer the Call of Duty games for my ww2 fix...for now.

Yeah DBS, I wouldn't mind getting into some deathmatching with Call of Duty. Could be *ahem* a blast.

Sounds like fun...we should set it up. I do not have CoD 2 loaded up yet but have the original and the expansion loaded up.
