Is it possible to purchase Counterstrike Source separately from Half Life 2? And if so, is it cheaper?
Because right now I really feel like playing CS again. Enough that I might buy HL2 just for CS Source. But I don't really want to buy HL2, hehehe.

Well I'll have to check prices here. If it isn't sold significantly cheaper I might as well get Half Life 2.
I still haven't played HL2. I'd get it just so that we can start up games of Counterstrike. That would be cool.

Id be up for that.I got Halflife 2 havent tried Counterstrike source, but did spec a few games looked pretty fun.I did try out the deathmatch tho that was fun as heck and te source comes with Death Match to.Its cool picking up furniture and throwing it to kill people lol.Anyways im up for some source if we can get a few more people.F.E.A.R. while the SP campaign is lackluster the Multiplayer is great. You need a Pretty High end system to run that though.Didnt start running great for me till i got my 6800 GT
What happened to you guys tonight? I'll try again tomorrow.
Can't you just get Counterstrike: Source from Steam?

Sorry Aku knowone played much lastnight so instead i fired up Falcon 4.0 Allied Force to learn how to take off in my F-16.Was spectating some online play and man it was cool as heck.It will take me 3-6 months before i get to the point of where id actually embaress myself online with it as the pdf Manual that came with the game is 716 pages.Flight sim 2004 has nothing on this game as far as learning curve. It took me about a month to figure out flight sim 2004 this game will take as much as a year or more to memorize all the keys what have you as theres over a thousand key combinations, although most of it can be done by hitting switches inside the virtual cockpit.Only thing they need to imporve with the game is explosion effects other then that its an awesome experience. But the developers are improving the game all the time there coming out with there 5th patch in 6 months and its really not for bugs its mostley to improve special effects what have you.Me and DBS are going to help eachother out so we can both get good at it and if anyone else is willing to learn with us we can all team up go online and play coop together. With all the time it will take me to get a grasp of this game im only going to play Ironwrath, swat 4,UT 2004 and rFactor when i get it and will cut back hosting to maybe 3 nights a week.

So if I have any Valve Steam game, I can just download CSS for free?

Every Valve game of late uses Steam. That isn't really too many but Counterstirke Zero (which I have) uses Steam.

That's why I would never bother with the game unless it has a "arcade" mode.
Yeah Flight Sim 2004 has nothing on Falcon 4.0 for the learning curve, Bane, because in FS 2004 u don't have to shoot anything down, LOL. I've played modern flight sims before, and they are so hardcore that only people with real piloting skill can play them. I remember playing the tutorials for Israeli Airforce, and it took me a week to just take off and land properly. Then came test combat, and learning how to track bogies with your radar. Then the actual doglfighting. The planes move so fast that if you are off by a single second in doing an inverted loop or some other maneuver you totally lose sight of the plane you're targeting. And don't even play these sims with blackout or redout enabled. Man, you have to make a sharp turn and suddenly you're blacking out. That's why I stick with WWII sims, the planes move slower and there's no complicated equipment you have to deal with. So much simpler and more fun, cuz you can actually shoot something down.

They do have an arcade like mode but trying it on 100% realism mode for now.You can set it all the way to 8% realism so its much much easier to fly.

Dunno why i thought F.E.A.R. was a valve game.Probably cause it looks exactley like HL 2.
Bane, we could also try IL 2 forgotten battles or Pacific assult. It also has co op multiplayer in a dynamic campain and is ww2 stuff..prop planes are easier to fly. Falcon is gonna take some time for sure

Source is definately available apart from HL2. I just bought my copy for my new computer since I lost the old cd key.
And as for downloading it, good luck finding a cd keygen that'll work, because I sure haven't found one.

I just got falcon and refuse to give up on it.If i had money to throw around id get IL but the way things are im going to have a hard enough time getting rFactor with my broke ass lol.If your not interested DBS its ok but i for one want to learn how to play it and figure out all the radars and crap. Also once you in the air its not any harder to fly those then a prop.Go through 4-5 training missions and if just seems to hard then give up till then just mess with it and i assure you once you start learning it its going to be a blast.By the way ill link you to a few forums and a place where they have alot of falcon help tuitorials i even downloaded a virtual f-16 cockpit and it shows what every area of the console does its very helpful
I have European Air War (my favorite WWII flight sim) and Combat Flight Sim 2.

EAW has a real cult following. There's still sites with mods for it, and even as recently as a year ago I still saw discounted boxed copies of it at EBX. Hey, take a break from crashing your plane in Falcon 4.0 and fire up Iron Wrath this weekend. Paine needs to kill us.
Ya had to reformatt ill get Ironwrath but and going by saturday night.ill put a server up 7 pm central again.LOL at paine killing us although im becoming the murderer latley lol.

Well, no, you'll still have to buy it if you wanna get it from Steam. As far as I know the only game that bundles CS:S for free is HL2, but you've already said you don't want to buy that.
Here's what I *think* you need to do (ymmv): Download Steam (or if you already have it then skip this step obviously). Load it up and log in. Click on online store or whatever the hell. Buy Counterstrike: Source assuming you have a credit card or similar. Download the game. Play.
Simple! ;)

Sounds like playing GTA: San Andreas on the keyboard. ;)

I remember playing the tutorials for Israeli Airforce, and it took me a week to just take off and land properly. You should consider yourself lucky i cant even do my startup/powerup right ,where they will even let me try to take off.I keep failing my f-16 system startup let alone being able to attempt a takeoff or landing.Sorry but i sat there for 4 hours lastnight and took 6 cracks at it and couldnt do it.I always forgot something and i failed every dang time.So now i put the game on basically arcade mode and its alot more fun.To think i thought i could actually teach myself to fly a real f-16 and when i say real they claim if ya can fly these you can fly the real thing.Kinda like flight simulator 2004 i could take off but forget trying to land.guess i would make a good terrorist.
I am not giving up on Falcon...I just have to put time into it. It will be working on it but my time is limited so we will see how far I get.
I did finally take off once and only scratched the burners on the runway a little.. too much angle.

Urgh, if that's how it's going to be, then I'll just buy Half Life 2. Might as well pick it up this long weekend. On the plus at least I get a "free game" out of it, LOL. And I might as well play the entire thing through just so I can say "I've played Half Life 2 and am most unimpressed." Or hey, maybe the game gets better later on, enough to impress me. The start was really a drag but you can never really count a game out until it's over.

I have Steel Beasts and it's the same thing, except for tank combat. If you can get through the tutorials and training campaigns, you'd be able to jump into a Leopard tank and basically know how to work the whole shebang. I was considering getting IL-2. There's a release right now that has the 2 complete games for dirt cheap.

You blew off Paine capping us in the back in RS for this? Come on, man! I can picture multiplayer like this: Aku taxiing...DBS crash on takeoff...Bane crash on takeoff...Aku wins match. Better start the rounds with the planes already in the air, LOL.

Ya i was tired and frustrated when typing that.I will keep at it although i will be playing it in arcade mode alot when i dont have time to try realism.
