I got a problem when running this i got to the end but was a pain to get there. My computer reboots itself in gameplay sometimes and my memory resets itself and my FSB goes back to 200 instead of the 240 i have it set to.I get to the last level and now cant play it more then 2 minutes without it crashing again.Yes i played with and without patch and its the only game that does this to me any thoughts?Other then that the game is awesome and has some of the coolest bosses ive ever seen.I actually enjoy this more then quake 4 and want to finish it im so close but i still have the expansion to finish to.

Extremely weird. I've never heard of a game screwing your BIOS settings.

I enjoyed Painkiller too, as I said before it's the real successor to Doom, not Doom 3. The bosses are great, one of the bosses is like he was from Shadow of the Colossus. :) It's one of the better FPS games around actually and it runs perfectly on very little overhead -- my old Radeon 9800 Pro could run the game maxed out perfectly.

Ya it sux man it seemed every end of the chapter boss was getting cooler and cooler only wish i could have had that last fight with lucifer.I played on easiest difficulty but got so far into it before i decided it was way to easy.I was going to start up another game to collect all 23 tarot cards so i could open up the extra levels on the hardest difficulty.I hear alot of people have the problems i do with the gold edition but knowone found a soulution.Makes me want to just buy the original PK and get the expansion seperatley instead of trying to play hte gold edition. The game is straight forward but its the most fun ive had in an FPS in a long time.Kinda reminds me of the Serious Sam series only 5x better.

Oh yeah I remember people were mentioning issues with Painkiller Gold. I got the separate parts so I didn't notice. The expansion though doesn't seem to be as good as the first part at times, although a lot of the levels had some great atmosphere like that orphanage. It's always orphanages, isn't it?

Yeah....the orphanage in Thief 3, the orphanage in Alice. Orphanages are just plain creepy!

I must have been blessed in a past life not to have the misfortune of growing up in an orphanage.

It's interesting that horror stories that involve children or things to do with them (such as clowns, dolls, etc..) are always the scariest.

There was a link to a really cool website over on TTLG where this guy took photos of different abandoned orphanages in Europe. They were really creepy and looked just like The Cradle in Thief 3! People actually go camping overnight in these places for the ghoulish experience, but they're not very safe because of the vagrants who make their homes there.
