Totally agree, I ran into this restriction from day one [I suspect this will come down to site resources available]. :)

I don't thinks it's so much resources, but rather they want to limit what people put in their sigs in order to stop people from posting books for sigs. However, I think we all know what is acceptable, so we could monitor each other, and for those that want something longer, you can always change the size of the text.

Yes, my confusion. I recall now that when I inquried about the sig capacity on opening day [vBulletin boards], I was informed it was the sig IMG that needed to be kept in check.
