If you're happy with the PS1 games still, waiting is okay. In a couple of months, the PS2 may have a price drop to $129...who knows. If you like RPGs, you are required to have a PS2 - no questions asked. And think about this, when you get your PS2 finally, you'll have FFX, FFX-2, and FFIX to look forward to :-)

Started on Pong, went to Atari, went to Collecovision, then went to Nintendo when they single handly revamped the home gaming industry in the '80s.

Stayed with the Nintendo up until the 64 because I tend to be a loyal consumer.

Went to PS2 last year because I was tired of Nintendo changing platforms every couple of years and I was very impressed PS2 played PS1 games plus DVDs.

I have loved my PS2 every day since but I swear if they come out with another platform soon, which only caters to adult gamers that have good jobs and the kids of rich people I will scream and perhaps give up gaming again as i did in my early 20s.

The relase of a new platform of the playstation any time soon within the next 3 years would be STUPID!

Half the people I know still want a PS2 and there is talk of another platform coming out ALREADY!!!!!???????

Seriously it makes me sick when companys cater to the elite......

I would hope Sony knows this and their research firms have told them the same. I believe this is the thought behing PS2s greatest hits games.... The know they must get gaming platforms and the games into the hands of more people... that is the seceret to success.

I remeber when home video games disappeared because of mismangement of the market by Atari and others......

I hope we do not go down that road again.... lose mass support of video games by catering to the upper middle class and the gaming elite will only cause the market to shrink and suffer hurting us all in the end.

All you damn rich kids quit whinning that you aren't al special anymore because their are a ton of kids at schoool that own a PS2 now and you just don't feel special anymore..... That you wish for the old days when you were the ONLY person to have one and that gave you tingly warm feelings inside.

Go find somthing else to spend your allowance on like fur coats or somthing......

OK now that that rant is out........

Yes buy the PS2, it rocks......
