GTA Liberty stories just came out, Popolocrois is coming, as is the first EA game to catch my eye in eons, a Lord of the Rings tactical RPG.

Currently, I'm only playing Virtua Tennis on it, and Hot Shots Golf. I'm liking it for golf so much might pick up Tiger Woods if I spot it used and cheap.

What are guys playing, or want to play on PsP? For me the DS is still eating most of my time and money and will be through Dec at least. It's in part because of how good and original the flow of software has been, but it's also the price; I'd definitely buy more PsP software if they were $29-$34.

Anything for PsP you really want Santa to bring you? Anyone seen screens for Price of Persia PsP? Post away about the PsP; this forum has been so dead wondered if I'm the only one left playing it.

Eh, I sold mine off to get a PS2. Since the games I want for it aren't coming out for awhile yet, I figured it'd be best to wait for them to show up and (hopefully) pick it up for a bit cheaper than I can get it now.

It'll be worth a purchase in about a year or so when it finally has a largish library of good games. But for now the DS is where all the fun is.

I would be playing it if I had figured out how to do the emulation on the PSP, but alas, I'm a fricken dumbass or something of the like. Not even Jupiter X simple as hell instructions can help me.

The main reason I don't play it that much also is because my DS and console gaming are currently hogging up my time. Currently I'm playing through SotC(taking this one slow, for some reason), and just today, I finished The Warriors. Prime still continues to shred me on MPP, and I'm playing through Julius quest on Dawn of Sorrow. Also, playing through MPP has made me go back to playing Echoes, which I haven't beat yet.

Plus, I'm still having a blast getting stomped on DOAU and Burnout 3 online.

Looking foward to G&G, and I'd like to pick up The Con, when it drops in price, of course. I still can't bring myself to buy and PSP game for fifty bones.

Sorry bro, I tried!

I play the PSP quite often, but I wish as Gadfly said, the games weren't so $$$! Socom and GTA will be my target.

Well, I recently had some outpatient surgery that had me on my butt in bed for a few days. I have to say that it was actually fun browsing the web wirelessly via my PSP while in bed, since it was a bit painful to try to make it to my PC.

It's a damn shame the UMD movies are so expensive. If they would come down to about $10 or so I would buy some, but I'll be damned if I'll pay more for one of those than I do for a full size DVD.

There is a new PSP release called Legends of something, and the screen shots look good. One of the main reasons I bought a PSP was the playstation heritage of awesome RPGs. But games of all types are slow to come to this little tech-wonder. Geez, if they would just port some PS1 RPGs...meanwhile, the movies just keep on coming...

I've been logging a lot of hours on X-Men Legends and I'll be getting Legend of Heroes on the 15th. I did pick up GTA, and while its technical achievements puts everything else on the psp to shame, the gameply is just..... eh, and the story is way too generic Mafioso for my tastes.

Couple questions; what is the best PsP online game so far?

Second question, maybe kind of stupid, but I don't have a wireless router at home, and was considering just getting the Nintendo one for $39; but does anyone know, would the PsP play through that too? I don't know jack about wi-fi at home, what is the best, least expensive most versatile way to do this. I have broadband. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. So far I've only used my PsP at coffee shops to download tracks for Wipeout.

And on a completely other note, I would die and go to gamer heaven if a PsP versioin of Culdcept is released in the states.

An online version of culdcept would be off the scale incredible. I think the reason that game was not more popular was that people assumed it was just another card type game.

things are popping a bit in the PSP world. I see that, for $20, you can get the Sony Media Manager for the PSP (download version). The windows-only software takes care of all the conversions and resizing to play video and music on your PSP. It'll do quicktime, mpegs, avi's, everything. and, if you wait until later this month, for $25 you can get the boxed version which has some downloads from the sony music service as well as another USB cable. Plus the software on disk, of course.

I see that sony has a 2 gig Memory Stick Duo Pro now. It ain't cheap (about $275 is the least I've seen it for) but it has pushed the price of the one gig below $100, so that's not too bad. The 4 gig HD for the PSP at Lik-Sang is under $300 now. It looks pretty cool, though user reviews say it's slow.

Of the three popular music compression formats, mp3, apple, and sony, sony sounds the best, IMO.

speaking of memory cards, i got a 256 meg CF for $19, for my GBA Movie Player. That wil hold a full length movie easily. I was amazed at the size of the underground for that device. Geez, it does rom images for GB, GBC, GBA, DS, and PSP! And there are tons of free movie downloads (on chinese sites)

I wish sony would come out with an email client and a keyboard for the PSP. I have a palm device, and it's browser blows compared to the PSPs. the folding keyboard for the palm is about $70 and about the same size as a PSP, so i think it would sell.

Geez, I'm rambling, goodnite all...

If Nintendo's connector is IEEE standard 802.11b or g (and I'm 100% sure it is... most likely b for $39) and it has some kind of security or encryption, you should be good to go and any 802.11b or g compliant device should connect, if Nintendo hasn't somehow tailored it to be DS only. B and G are compatible and interoperable... for the most part so it's not a big deal which one. G is just the more recent and faster standard.

I tried playing some MLB online and it was terrible. I never could connect. X-men is online, but dang, nobody plays online. Everytime I checked the servers were empty. I got to beta test Socom and that is probably going to be the most popular online game for a while. For a portable version it was pretty tight.

I'm really impressed with Nintendo stepping into the WiFi arena in such a big way.

PSP is actually getting some decent titles now, but at $40-$50 a pop I'm not really going nuts over anything right now save my NES emu. The newer titles require fw 2.0, which would put a kink in my homebrew aspirations.

I picked up Legend of Heroes (beat it) and Kingdom of Paradise. LoH is school J. rpging to a T. The battle system is typical. With black (attack) and white (healing/support) magic you can fight-heal your way through until the last few boss fights, and the translation is pretty bad. Tons of spelling and grammar errors. What LoH does extremely well is illustrate the relationships between the characters. How these relationships resolve really kept my interest. But this is probably for story oriented gamers, or lovers of oldschool rpgs.

KoP has a combat system that is remarkably designed like a real martial arts system. It is designed after real life Chinese five elements philosophy. You collect style scrolls among which you insert Kenpu or self defense tiles then you assign the scrolls to the R1 button. You can find free style scrolls so you can design your own martial arts katas, basically. You can also build up your chi to unleash devastating chi attacks, that are very cool. It's a huge, well designed game with level designs and clean graphics that pay homage to the countryside cinematography of kungfu movies. Quick load times and a stable frame rate make this a very solid game. Cons include, the sometimes terrible voice acting and the rather loosely designed story and the actual combat doesn't really match the complexity of its design. At first it seems like the game is just button mashing but the strategy does reveal itself after a few hours in which you'll be juggling kenpu tiles and scrolls to figure out the best strategies for the relative enemies. I'd definitely recommend this.
