Man, this image makes my heart pounding only faster and faster. A new movie dvd is coming to tell the story 2 years after the end of FF7. It is going to show a new evil force arise in the world. Wouldn't this be the best entry for a sequel of ff7? I say it looks favorable so far. I am so excited!!!! I am! I really am!

Now THIS is the movie they should've done instead of that bland Aliens copycat.
I'm sure a game is not far behind! :) But they have to be kinda careful. 6 years has passed since FF7 came out, so they need to approach the sequel very cautiously. But I'm sure they'll hook it up.

It will also make up for the lame ass ending of FF7, the only part of that game I didn't like. The ending. Not to mention you can't find a more perfect character (Cloud) to bring back. LOL! But I will be the first fanboy to get a shot in and say right now, I'm not crazy about his photorealistic look. He looks like he's from an 80s rock band. :p

I had heard all the buzz about FF7 at TGS, so naturally, my first instinct was..NEW GAME. Instead, we get a straight to DVD movie....

Hey, maybe it will be cool, but I'd much rather have a game..although this might be a taste of things to come.

Best in the series..followed closely by FF4...IMHO. And the ending, while extremely vague, wasn't that bad. It still made slightly more sense than the story from 8. :P

Ahhh! don't get me started about 7's ending! :P Can you say "no closure?" The thing I didn't like about 8 was you were only vaguely aware of the real villain until the very end of the game. So by the time I'm near to the last fight I didn't really care. It was through sheer will I finished the game as the last 3rd was a real snoozer, but the ending credits made up for it. (much in the same way Legend of Dragoons ending made up for the frustration of its timed battle system) Now that. had closure.
I agree I'd much rather have a game, but dang I can't ignore a FF7 movie. So, FF6 is third in the series? :)

6 is third for me. While it may be a more technically proficient title...it just doesn't hold the same place in my heart as FF4. 4 was just awesome, you had the troubled main character, whereas in 6, there was really a few main characters...sort of.

Now while 6 had a better ending villain, Golbez was still cooler looking...even though he wasn't the end villain.

GRAAAAH

It's just BETTER OK!!! ;)

I still listen to the soundtrack and remember much of the actual game. 3/6 was a bit more hollow than 2/4. Anyhow, 2/4 had a much better introduction and all in all just plain better characters.

WELL, this is nice stuff concerning my favorite game on the planet. We can only hope for another game...I've always thought that making an FF7-2 would be a good idea. If they can make and FFX-2, they can make an FF7-2. Seeing some of the gang again in Kingdom Hearts got me all excited like Folken up there...

If any of the Final Fantasy sequels is deserving of an offshoot it'd be FF7. While the other FF games more or less exausted what the world had to offer by the games end, 7 left you with the feeling that there was more beneath the surface that could've been expanded on.

It's a bit weird that the one game I'm hoping for a REAL sequel to is my 3rd favorite in the series. FF3 is my overall favorite, 2 follows close behind (and has the best soundtrack of the series bar none), and 7 trails slightly behind it. I dunno why I prefer 3 over the rest, I guess because it had the darker, more tangible world in comparison to 2 and was home to the mother of all plot twists...

Yea, a sequel of ff7 is definitely cool. Actually, I want SquareEnix to make the sequel of ff7 for ps3. That would kick so much ass.

Have you seen the picture of the upcoming ff7 movie? Man, it looks so good and I can't stop wondering why didn't Square make Spirit within like that?
