Which games you picking up on launch day? I currently have Madden 360 & Call of Duty 2 reserved. I also plan on picking up Kameo on launch day as well. I figure these 3 should keep me busy for awhile.
Games I'll pick-up shortly thereafter or as soon as they become available:
1. Possession - this games looks really fun
2. NBA Live 06 - for online multiplayer w/my cous
3. DOA4
4. Gears of War
5. Quake 4 or Perfect Dark Zero (whichever ends up with the better multiplayer) - after I get my FPS fix on Call of Duty 2
6. Oblivion - still debating - not a huge RPG fan but this game looks fantastic
Luckily the premium 399 bundle comes w/wireless controller, headset, harddrive, & faceplate so I won't have to buy any of that stuff separate. I may need to pick up one of those play and charge kits for the wireless controller however - otherwise it runs on reg. batteries.

I only care about one game: Oblivion. I will probably not preorder other games because I predict I will be addicted to Oblivion.

DOA isn't a day one? We4ll, it looks like I'll be waiting to get me my 360 till it does come out. From Glock's list, I'll end up getting Gun, Oblivion, and maybe Kameo and Quake.

There are still a number of titles that have yet to be confirmed as launch titles. Reuters is reporting that Saint's Row and The Outfit will be launch titles. I'm expecting DOA4 and King Kong to also be launch titles for 360 as well as Ridge Racer 6. For a rushed system, there's going to be a hell of a lot of launch title software. GR:AW is officially delayed to Feb 2006.
My launch picks will be COD2, Madden, and Oblivion.

Great - it looks like everyone is getting a couple different titles. We'll certainly have to re-group & share how each game is after we've gotten some time to play them.
Cuddly- yes, DOA4 has been delayed although it looks to release before Christmas (just not at launch).

Reserved DOA4 bringing my total up to 3. I'm also now interested in Codemned - the more I read the more interested I'm becoming for this title. Kameo is another consideration.
Less than 30 days to launch.

I should also mention that DOA4 is a launch title at Gamestop afterall.

Condemned seems intriguing. I think right now the only certain games I would get if I had a console on launch day would be Oblivion and Call of Duty 2. Call of Duty 1 sucked on XBOX, but this looks totally different. But by the time I get a 360, if I get a 360, there may be a whole new slate of games.

I didn't preorder, so if there are any 360s left, I would like to pick up Condemned, PDZ, and Gear of War if available. NBA 2k6 is the wildcard.

Call of Duty:Finest Hour on console was not Call of Duty for the pc. Different developer. Infinity Ward did the pc version, gameranking score 92%, Spark Unlimited did the xbox version, gameranking score 73%. Activision has since dumped them for future work. Infinity Ward is doing the pc/360 versions. All is well.
I've added Kameo to my pre-order list. I need a co-op game to play with my niece. Condemned is also shaping up but I'm concerned that its short and may lack replay value.

Oblivion and Saint's Row would be my likely games to get at launch. Surprisingly, I was able to pre-order a "late 360" at EBGames after doing some trades. I may or may not get it at launch, due to the other current-gen games I want to play first. If I don't, I'll definitely pick it up by the time the next-gen version of Tomb Raider: Legend comes out in '06.

Still haven't seen an Official list of launch games from MS.
However we do know that Kameo is for sure going to be one - as it's already out.
Well, Circuit City is saying (via ad in their current circular) that...
- Call of Duty 2
- Madden 06
- NBA Live 06
- Quake 4
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Project Gotham Racing 3
...will also be available before the actual console itself - "In stores Thursday" (11/17) - so I guess that would make them launch titles as well, eh?
I guess it's going to be a de facto list.(?)
Oh, one more thing... the three MS published games (Kameo, PDZ, and PGR3) are all going carry a price tag of $49.99 - not $59.99 like the other ones.

My updated list of games preorderd and paid in full are:
Kameo
Madden 360
PGR3
Call of Duty 2
I may also pick up one more game at launch but haven't decided on which. Leaning heavily towards NBA Live 06 though. What else to get?
PD0 looks mediocre. Condemned looks excellent but I already have a FPS title in COD2. Maybe Amped 3. Any suggestions?

Well, we're sympatico, I have Kameo, Madden and COD2 pre-ordered. Also Condemned, but that may change. Still considering PGR3. Condemned is not an FPS, weapons you fire are rare in the game and your ammo is very limited. Most of the time you're looking at melee combat. Amped 3 actually looks interesting. NBA Live I'm also considering, looks better than madden visually. With the b/c list, I may look at a title like Half Life 2 instead of just 360 titles.
Had a chance to try out PDZ at a cheezy event hosted by MS. I have no enthusiasm for this game. Plays slow and it just looks and feels dated. Exploding barrels abound, yea! Talk about cliche. Joanna looks like she's hung over from an all-night rave and the music sounds like it comes from a 70's porn flick. The cover thing and the roll things suck. You wind up snapping in and out of first person to third person and back again, its irritating. What the fanboys see in this title, I have no idea.

Wow dude, you've already got 4 new games slated for your 1st Day! Do you really need anymore?
I know I wouldn't. Kameo should take about 20-30 hours to beat; Call of Duty should last you a good while; Madden is (or can be) ultra-long; and PGR3 is perpetual.
I say relax for a bit and wait a couple of weeks before you buy something new - there will be other 360 titles coming out over the next 5-6 weeks, from Day 1 to the end of 2005, you know.
Of the 16 (probable) Day 1 titles (the 17 I listed last month, minus Oblivion and Top Spin, but plus King Kong) I'm, personally, only interested in PGR3 and Kameo. I'd take Quake4, PDZ, and Amped 3 if somebody gave them to me, but I don't want them enough to pay $50-$60.
(I'd take NFS:MW and KK too, but I've already got NFS reserved and paid-for for my Xbox, and I'm just planning on renting KK. Anything else I'd just trade away, right away - I doubt I'd even open them. But that's just me.)

I would hold off on NBA Live 06 until a review or two has come out (If you pre-order it at EB, you should be able to switch it to something else with no problem). From a preview at TeamXbox, it appears that Live 06 will not have Dynasty mode, nor will it have Freestyle moves on the right analog stick. Gamespot's preview made it sound like it would have the Freestyle moves, but I'm not sure which one is accurate. Only a review or two will tell.

I got it pretty it close yesterday... Top Spin, indeed, is not a Day 1 title, but Condemned and Ridge Racer get added. And those two games strengthen up the list a lot.

Well, read some of the reviews on Kameo. Game seems a tad on the short side, Rare said this was a lengthy game, doesn't appear to be from the reviews and the two player co-op seems like a last minute add on and not particularly well-implemented, so I'm replacing Kameo with PGR3.
So, right now, I'm looking at COD2, Madden, PGR3 and Condemned.

Aw man, you right. What happened?!
From the GameStop Review:
Sadly, the adventure is over too soon--after maybe just eight-or-so hours of gameplay. There's some more for you to see and do after you've finished the main quest, but the main quest feels like it really could have benefited from at least a couple more action levels, since you really don't get much chance to use all the creature forms to their fullest potentials. By the time you've got all 10 forms, or most of them, the gameplay potential is really tremendous, since you're free to switch forms at any time--and it's easy to do so. The game comes up with some really inventive ways for you to combine the various creatures' abilities, but you'll probably be left wishing for more.
The only disappointing thing about Kameo: Elements of Power is that it doesn't last longer. It doesn't necessarily feel short, since it's jam-packed with things to see and do, and it keeps throwing new experiences at you from start to finish. But since the combat is mostly pretty easy, and since the puzzle solutions are always right there (courtesy of your talking hint book), you should be able to blow through Kameo pretty quickly, at which point the bonus extras and score challenges probably won't keep you busy for too much longer.
Excerpts from the IGN Review :
Kameo isn't quite the epic adventure that I was hoping for. I was able to beat the game in just over eleven hours with a minimal focus on side quests and collectables.
This game can easily be completed in a weekend. Co-op mode, collectibles, and the scoring system stretch out the experience but its still feels like it all ends too soon.
Even with the co-op and the bonus scoring system I never really thought the game would make it to 30 hours. Then again I didn't want it to. 20 hours is cool, but I don't like these kinds of games to go over that, anymore.
That said, I've a right to be dissapointed, because Rare said the game would take that long to beat.(!) From a GameStop Preview (dated Sept.16, 2005)...
Toward the end of our meeting with Rare we were given the opportunity to pose a few questions and were able to glean the following titbits of information:
1. Kameo: Elements of Power will take a minimum of 20 to 30 hours to complete...
8 hours and I'd be pissed. I could (probably) live with 11 tho'.
Of course if these are saying it takes that long... with the way I play thru my games, I probably will get it to that 20-30 mark. :p

I'll definitely rent Kameo and give it a whirl, but you'd think that with all that development time they'd be able to create a longer game. Rare just isn't in the top echelon of development houses anymore, they're riding on their former glory. I've got bad feelings about PDZ, the reviews for that game are going to be all over the place. Not that I was interested much in the first place. I just don't like anything about the game so far.
PGR3 looks like its the best bet of the first party titles. Right now, features like Gotham TV can't even be factored into the game, but this is going to change online gaming. Features that I really like are the incockpit view, the sensation of speed with the game, and the route creator. The online aspect pushes the game ahead of Kameo, PGR3 is going to have some legs, this game will likely receive updated cities for download as well like PGR2. Its going to have a bustling worlwide online community.
On the sports front, the top sports title is going to be madden. 2k sports went cheap, they ported, no justiifcation for asking $60 for current gen games with a minor facelift.
I'm interested in NBA Live although its feature starved and some gameplay aspects don't appear to have been resolved. Good thing I can try it out via download.
Overall, the launch has sagged, but that's not unexpected. Oblivion weakened the lineup, DOA4 slipped, certain games turn out to be nothing more than ports like the 2k sports games, some games just don't work out like Kameo. B/c has helped, I'll probably pick up half life 2, xbox live arcade is priced right. 4 player gauntlet online at 1080i for $5, how cool is that?
Still beats the recent launches of the handhelds which were both pretty miserable. Hell, the DS launch may have been the worst launch ever. The psp launch had quantity, but aside from lumines and ridge racer was sorely lacking. And neither game was even remotely a system selling killer app.
Launch could've been better, on the other hand, it could've been a whole lot worse.

Went w/my cousin to Gamestop yesterday and confirmed both of us getting a console on launch at midnight (right after the Packers beat the Vikings on MNF).
I also picked up NBA Live since my cousin wants to play it online w/me.
So I currently have - COD2, Madden, NBA Live, PGR3, & Kameo. DOA4 is reserved but another week or so away from release.
I might also try and pick up another controller but they've been hard to come by up to this point. I've only seen wired ones available and I'd really prefer a wireless version. The cost turns me off though as the wireless models supposedly cost $49.99 - OUCH
I got off of work every day after Monday so I should get many hours right out of the gate on my new hardware. Can't wait.... I feel like a little kid with only 3 days left until Christmas.

The wireless controllers for some reason seem to have shipped late, they're in stores now in quantity where I live.
