Quite honestly, I'm sick of rumors and here-say. So leat's deabte something a little more tangiable, shall we?

My Favorites:

Playstaion

Xenogears- Maybe the coolest story and battle system ever put into one game. Definatley one of my favorites.

Final Fantasy 7- I tried to replay this game recently, and it hasn't aged well. Still, at the time, it was un-*******-believeably pimp.

Valkyrie Profile- I'm pretty sure that most of you havn't played this game. It was lost in all the FF 9 hype, but became one of my favorite games.

Super Nintendo

Secret of Mana- Remains my favorite game of all time. The best mix of Zelda and true rpg elements ever combined. Much fun, indeed.

Final Fantasy 3 ( 6 )- The best game in the Final Fantasy series. Ehough said.

Choron Trigger- I feel this game is a little overrated, but it's still damn good. The best story on the Snes, and easliy had the best sondtrack of Snes games.

I choose the Snes, but by a hair.

If you could only have one system for rpgs, what would you choose.

Forgive the spelling erros and whatnot. I drank a 40 withg a coupke od percocets. The keyboard keeps f*cking with me I swear to god.

Not played Valkyrie Profile my butt! I enjoyed VP more than any FF game except Tactics.

I can't really debate in this thread too much though since I was dead during the SNES days. I never had a SNES and had to play SNES games on my friend's SNES or on emulators. I would be heavily biased towards the PS1 (and it shows since my fave games of all time include Suikoden 2 and FF Tactics).

But my line up would be:

PS1
Suikoden 2
FFTactics
Kagero Deception
Valkyrie Profile
Xenogears

SNES
Um...
Chrono Trigger

Systme for RPGs? My list speaks for itself. And hey, my PS1 list probalby isn't even complete!

I forgot FFT's, and I don't know why. The caves you go to where evrythng is dark and you have to find the next intrance before you kill everybody is so pimp. The hardest thing I've done in a rpg since the Cave of Trials in Star Ocean 2.

PS1
FF8
Parasite Eve

SNES
Chrono Trigger
Earthbound
Terra-Nigma

Genesis
Phantasy Star series

PS1
Alundra (not really a straight up RPG, but SKROO U if you argue with me)
Xenogears
Final Fantasy 7 (The last good FF in the main series)
Final Fantasy Tactics
Suikoden 1 (Liked it better than 2, though nostalgia might be a factor here)
Wild Arms (Awesome game, loved every second of it)

SNES
Secret of Mana (WOOT!)
Final Fantasy 2
Final Fantasy 3
Chrono Trigger
Lufia 2 (Excellent dungeons and puzzles, though the plot was kinda cliche)

I gotta give the edge to the PS1. The SNES had some damn great games for it, but the PS1 managed to eek ahead in my opinion.

Alundra seemed to me like Sony's answer to Zelda.

Suikoden 1 (Liked it better than 2, though nostalgia might be a factor here)

I vote for the SNES. FF3 is my favorite RPG of all time. To this day I compare modern rpgs (like the recent tales of symphonia) to it.

BTW, the best item in the game you will find just as you meet mog (the little white thing on the cover of the game). Go to where it was standing when you first meet it, and check to find an item that let's you avoid all random encountered battles when you equip it.

I miss my Snes and my Nes, but now I get to re-live that experience on my PSP. Ooooooweeee, I am playing my beloved Illusion of Gaia, Shadow Gate and Actraiser 2 again. God Bless the PSP!

Think it's time I start up FF3 (6) and just see how darn good this game really is!
