View Full Version : Perfect Dark Downgraded. GT4 was seriously downgraded!

And nobody seemed to care.
Big deal, I can only play with 32 people instead of 50. I'm so disappointed. Big deal the scrapped the TV mode. Seems like the core game is intact and nothing important was scrapped. I seem to recall a certain racing game that was delayed for about a good year to get online, then despite those delays, completely scrapped the online mode and promised not a patch, but an online disc, and said disc never materialized. I think that game went on to be pretty successful, Gran Tourismo 4.
So these two things are no big deal. And certain people's reactions to them are pure hypocrisy. And anyone complaining about a Patch and then touting PC games is really really losing credibility fast. Come on people, you can do better than this. Games lose features all the time, hell look at Star Craft Ghost, that game ain't even out yet. I don't think anybody was gonna use TV mode, I certainly don't want to watch others play, and I don't think settling for 32 players is so bad.

Not saying PDZ won't be successful, just saying it's downgraded, and the patch mentality is awful.

How so? I complain about PC game patches more than anyone else on this board.

Hrrrm, let's see. One game has been in development since the day before forever and the other game was in development for three years or so. Besides, didn't they add additional modes to GT4 to compensate for online.

This is really lame TMG; there was already a thread called Perfect Dark Downgraded where you could, and did I think, post this in. Why are you starting a whole new thread to discuss what we just discussed in another thread with practically the same name?

Hypocrisy? GT4 left out online because they were unable to achieve the quality they wanted to with the Ps2 hardware. PD0 is being downgraded for no reason other than to meet a rushed and premature launch. A game should be done right, not rushed.

I'll let you in on a little well known secret about TMG. He is an attention whore and thinks himself X-box's biggest defender on these boards. Therefore, he feels it is his obligation to address each and every complaint brought against the system. It's like what Waco was doing with the PS2, late last year and earlier this year, only with a little bit of Gamer 78's sporadic spamming ability mixed in.

That's all i'm doing. I know the truth hurts. Ohhh Polyfony was concerned about quality, pleaaase fool, they couldn't do it that's all. And they draaaaaaaaaged consumers along for who knows how long. Then they made promises just to get people to buy the game anyway, promises they knew they would never make whole. Here game quality is not going to be diminished by eliminating a spectator mode. And nobody is going to suffer for not having 50 people, how many lobbies do you really think will have 50 people? Game developers go through these kinds of decisions all the time and they all have deadlines, the only problem here is MS shouldn't have promised anything up front. They should have just released a bunch of FMV showing Joanna Dark shooting her guns in a bikini, and fools would have said, "ohhhhhh Perfect Dark 0 is gonna rock."
If you don't want me to post a second thread about something, then you guys need to stop with the hypocritical bullsh*t. What happened to GT4 a game in the latter years of the PS2 life cycle is unforgivable and a much more grievous situation that PD0, in contrasting the two, PD0's ommission is completely benign.
And yeah, I'll defend the XBOX Deathbloke, after all this is system wars. I'm not so much defending it from actual justifiable criticism, just the BS you come up with so much. You too Gadfly, and now Mochan.

All I was saying, Clown, is that you could have made these points in the thread titled "Perfect Dark Downgraded." You are obviously just responding to that thread anyway.
Starting a whole new thread about the same topic is just attention grabbling, like Slade pointed out.

It's funny, Xbots can never post anything negative about their own System/Games without broadcasting the faults of the competing System/Games.
Hey, I posted that thread about Team Ninja is staying with M$...enough said! Whether I agree or disagree is irrelevant. I don't like this news one bit, I want NG on my PS3. But good for you M$, you have some solid standing. I guess I have to play Swapsies with some friends if I want to play it.
I'll even boldly admit that I like NG better than DMC and GoW Combined...sorry Slade!
