Well enough about system bickering, Fall is around the corner, but already the hot games are starting to roll in. I know gaming has been slow on some systems *cough PS2 GC, but it looks like thanks to some decent looking multiplatform games all systems should have some hot stuff. Here are some titles i'm looking forward to.

Marvel Nemesis - Well EA is finally putting together a string of decent games. Following Burnout is this game. I'll skip Burnout and opt for this. Finally a fighting game that is not DOA, Tekken, VF, or Street Fighter. Finally a game built for online. And the gameplay looks very good, in fact, it looks damn good. And, since i'm partial to Marvel, I must say these characters seem much more interesting than Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat and all that old tired crap. Good job EA, i'm sure they bought up the developers or did something unscrupulous, but good job nonetheless.

Ultimate Spider-man - Another multiplatformer. This one looks much different than the previous Spider-man games, I like the art direction and the enemies present in this one. From reading previews it should be pretty sweet.

Ninja Gaiden Black - well thanks to the useless XBOX LIVE, I've already played or downloaded much of what this game is gonna offer, but still, should be great for some people. I'll wait for the true sequel next gen.

X-MEN 2 - while I loved the first one, it did get kinda boring toward the end. It looks like nothing has changed in terms of graphics. And I didn't like how they gave power-ups and armor which kinda made the heroes non-authentic.

FarCry and Half-life2 - both have been much talked about here. Looking forward to one. Not the other.

Stubbs The Zombie - another game much publicized. Looks interesting too.

Brothers In Arms EIB - is back, it was a great game, but don't know if i'm ready for a sequel just yet.

Call of Cthulu - An XBOX shooter don't know much about. But looks interesting.

There's a bunch more games I know little about, like Gun and Battlefield Commander, Call of Duty 2.

I'll likely get Nemesis, Spiderman2 and Halflife2 and then buy 360 games.

Games have also been slow on the PC lately, too. I have to admit I've been in a dry spell in gaming (both my systems are moving a little slow... PC and PS2). Yet amazingly I still have a backlog of games to play.

Some of the games I am interested in are:

Oblivion (PC) - should be coming out in November. It's the game that will potentially make my year worth it.
Trapt (PS2) - aka Kagero 2: Deception. Everyone's all in a huff over Ninja Gaiden but Deception is one of my favorite Tecmo franchises.
Suikoden Tactics (PS2) - well I love Suikoden and I love tactical RPGs. It's a no brainer for me.
STALKER (PC) - I hope this game comes out sometime this year. It was supposed to come out last year. =_=
Call of Duty 2 (PC) - Just hope it comes out on PC soon.
Rainbow Six Lockdown (PC) - I think it's supposed to come out in December.
FEAR (PC) - they say it's Doom 3 meets Half Life 2. We shall see.

I'm also interested in XMen 2 but gosh they're not improving the graphics?! Also interested in Call of Cthulhu but obviously I'll be getting it on the PC.

Personally TMG, I say it's your loss for choosing Half Life 2 over Far Cry. Everyone on the PC board agrees Far Cry is the better game, and the sentiment goes strong elsewhere. HL2 really isn't anything special, then again I've always been anti-Half Life.

Fire Emblem - GC - My most anticipated game...possibly ever.

Mario Kart DS - Online Mario Kart. Nuff' said.

Animal Crossing DS - Online Animal Crossing. Both awesome and super sweet.

Trauma Center - DS - Surgical sim. Weird. Cool.

Lost in Blue - DS - Deserted island survival sim. Weird. Cool.

Trace Memory - DS - Point and click mystery. Neat.

Ultimate Spidey - multiplat - if they fix the problems from Spidey 2, then I'm on board.

Marvel Nemesis - multiplat - holding out till I know whether it's quality or typical EA crap.

Those are just of the top of my head.

I am personally looking forward too Spartan: total warrior, as the game looks epic. Also I am a sucker for the new prince of persia, so 3 will be something I may pick up before years end.

Oh yeah, they're coming up with a Rome Total War Barbarian Horde game. Maybe I should pick that up, too.

Gaming has been slow for ALL platforms, I WAS gonna pick up San Andreas for Xbox, but I was literally 12 hours too late, they had just pulled it off the shelves that day. So I'm pretty much done this for this gen, though Burnout: Revenge does intrigue me, I think I'm holding off, and I do have Ninja Gaiden and Riddick to finish so I should be ok until 360 hits.

Ninja Gaiden Black

Shadow of the Collosus- I might have to wait on this one if it's priced at $50.00. 14 enemies doesn't leave much hope for replay value. But it does look good for possible speed running.

MK: Shaolin Monks/ Urban Reign/Final Fight- I've been waiting for these kind of fighters for a while now. The last game I remember playing of this type was Bouncer, and that game has thirty minutes of fighting to its 4 hours of movie. I was hoping Final Fight would've stayed true to the originals. I have a feeling that FF might turn out like Beat Down did. Bring back Streets of Rage!!

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow- I haven't met a Castlevania game that let me down. Hmm, I haven't seen a 2-D 'vania that's let me down.

DOA4- Next-gen goodness.

Condemned- see above

Super Mario DS- This one might be my most anticipated game ever. EVER. I expect Nintendo to take the DS to its limit on this one. This game will be the one that puts the DS on top of the PSP for good.

Marvel Nemesis - I'm glad to see a fighting game that's trying to be a little bit different. To be honest, I think the PSP may have the best version, not only because they have an exclusive character (Captain America), but also because that character is taking the place of an overused Marvel character (Wolverine). I wouldn't mind seeing Cap in the console versions....and kick Spidey out of there too and use someone that hasn't been in a game this gen.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks - Haven't played a good beat 'em up since Buffy, and from the demo, this one should be good. I think co-op may end up being overated, though, unless they add more enemies to balance out having two characters.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness - After Zelda was delayed, this became my #1 most wanted game. I enjoyed Lament of Innocence, and every preview of CoD sounds like it was inspired from Symphony of the Night.

GUN - The Western that Red Dead Revolver couldn't be.

NFS: Most Wanted - With Hot Pursuit back in the game, this one should have something that Forza and GT4 seemed to lack........

Spartan Total Warrior - Hopefully, this game proves that Dynasty Warriors is old and tired, and need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Matrix: Path of Neo - I'm curious to see how this one turns out. It has to be a lot better than Enter the Matrix.

Ninja Gaiden Black - Not sure when I'll get it, though.

I'm not sure if all of these can be called "hot games", but they are some of what I'm looking forward to.

Wow you guys get excited over Mario Kart Online, and cant understand how we get excited over Motogp and Forza. See racing online is cool, whether its a cart or a hi-performance exotic car.

The rest of your games I never heard of, but aside from spidey and nemisis, but that is why it is great to have different platforms for different tastes.

I was just playing R6-Lockdown(i know pc will be diff) last night for really the first time. I think they did a good job with the environmental effects. When you are outside, the game looks fabulous. My only complaint is they made the indoor scenes too dark, but not dark enough to use night vision. I don't know maybe it was a conscious decision. Yeah, with Half-life, it is a personal thing. Half-life was my favorite FPS before Halo came along, so I just have to play it. I'm sure Farcry is great, but I won't have time.

I am really wishing Oblivion was online. I can't wait for the first online dungeon romp on LIVE.

I already preordered Half Life 2. And I think this comes out right around the same time as the new Brothers in Arms. So, I'll delay getting BIA since I want to devote time to Half Life 2.

If X-mens Legends 2 has full coop play on Live, I may consider getting it.

You know that sucks. I'm so sick of Wolverine, in every damn comic book, every damn game. Over used in the movies. This is one reason why i'm looking forward to this game, there are a lot of characters you don't typically see. The Thing, Venom. Spidey and Wolvey are there, but they will be canon fodder when I play. I hope it runs smoothly online.

Spartan I keep hearing good things, but I don't know about these one man versus an army games. I hate that just walking through hitting a button and wiping out everyone. Like KUF and Dynasty Warriors, I just couldn't get into those games.

I've sworn off buying console games until I play a number of the games I've already got--though I did fudge recently and bought Killer 7 for GC and Rise of Nations for PC. When Okami, Odama and Zelda Twilight Princess got pushed to early '06--those were the only three I was gonna get. And Wanda and the Collosus. It's games like this that make me think people are insane for abandoning current gen gaming and claiming limitations are hindering developer creativity. I see ZERO games as creative or cool looking as these titles, with the lone exception of the PC title Oblivion.

1. Oh yeah, will be getting We Love Katamri for Ps2. I thought I heard it was also coming out for GC.

The rest are all DS titles:
2.) Phoenix Wright
3.) Trauma Center
4.) Animal Crossing
5.) Metroid Pinball
6.) Mario Kart DS

And possibly Lost in Blue, Trace Memories and Shogun Warrior. I'm not sure Super Mario DS will be out this year, but like Cuddly says, it is gonna rock, it will be THE must play game period.

You never heard of those other games?!?! You remember that thread YOU started on whether getting a DS or PsP this holiday was a better value than the over priced 360?

Well, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE GAMES had a detailed description of them provided in that thread. Are you saying you were debating and you didn't even bother to read about what you were arguing against? You try to act like you know what you are talking about and you haven't even read hands on previews or looked at video clips? When I talked about the 360 line-up being mostly stale rehashes, I wasn't talking out my ass, I've actually looked at the games. No wonder you get your ass whipped in every debate by every other member of this forum.

You suck. You've officially just rendered yourself in my eyes as an ignorant fanboy with nothing to offer this forum---how can anyone take you seriously when you admit you don't even know what you are talking about or read responses to your posts before you go off on your fanboy tangents?

Unless I'm forced to use Spidey and Wolverine in the story mode, I'm going to stick with some of the others, like Ironman, Elektra, DareDevil and a few of the Imperfects. I wouldn't be surprised if PSP owners can somehow unlock Cap in the PS2 version, but how many will buy both versions just do to something like that?

I like these type of games since I would rather control one guy instead of an entire unit and just issuing commands (I'll take Spartan over the Shogun and Rome Total Warrior games by the same devs). I'm just so sick of seeing feudal China as the backdrop for Dynasty Warriors. It's basically the same thing since DW2, and Koei will probably keep churning them out next-gen as well (I'll avoid them all in favor of Ninety-Nine Nights).

Err...I wish people would stop saying blanket statements like "you guys", because I fully understand the draw in online racing games. In fact, I've gone on record before stating that my biggest disappointment in the Gamecube was the lack of online games.

Regardless, Mario Kart is probably in my top 2 all-time favorite games, so of course I'm going to be excited when it's online. It's the single biggest reason I bought a DS.

As a change of pace, I opted to pick up Samurai Warriors instead of Dynasty Warriors.
Rome Total Warrior will definitely be a nice breather over the Total War games; I played the heck out of Shogun Total War but playing Medieval and Rome dried me out, the games were just taking too long! The strategy was cool (nothing quite like sneaking your archers up a mountain pass and hiding them in the trees and baiting the enemy to attack you in the ravine below) but the pacing and the effort sort of leaves you limp.

It's fun to just get one guy to jump into the action and cream everyone's pants with mighty swings.

Did Samurai Warriors feel like it was a different game than DW, with the different backdrop, or was it nothing more than DW with a different coat of paint?

I have a feeling Heavenly Sword (PS3) may be similar as far as one against many hack and slash games, but as long as Koei isn't making it, I'll be happy.

The pacing definitely turned me against playing Shogun. I enjoyed watching someone else play it more. The old Nectaris: Military Madness game falls in this category as well. Looked fun watching, but that was all for me.

I've just got a LOT on my gaming plate, and I'm spending money on other hobbies like music and photography. I'm interested in Fire Emblem for cube VERY much, but not enought to buy it right now. Same to a lesser extent with Battalion Wars, which I've watched a lot of trailers on and it does look really cool. With Fire Emblem, I just can't lay out $50 for a turned based strategy game; I already have the cult fave Disgaea sitting here in my "soon" to play pile. And then my Advance Wars obsession, I'm getting a good dose of strategy right now.

And to TMG who's "Get over yourself. . . I don't memorize everything in every post. . ." that is a LAME cop-out; we're not talking about memorizing everything in everypost; we're talking about his claim to have NEVER HEARD OF games that were discussed in HIS THREAD; games in posts he RESPONDED TO. Neutrality doesn't extend to someone who admits to debating about games and systems they haven't even bothered with the bare minimum of looking at, nor a sys wars debater who doesn't even read posts he responds to but just picks out a line or two out of context to go off on unrelated, moody-esque tangents.

"Douche" is what I think you mean. Not such a bad idea. . . your posts are giving me that "not so fresh feeling."

Your handheld vs 360 thread did not leave the subject of handhelds vs 360 or the originality of the games they offer. No one expects you to know every detail of everything. . .who does? But for Christs sake man, you act like its ok to know NOTHING and still run your yap!

Will it make you happy if I say AGAIN that the 360 is a fine choice for a gamer such as yourself who never played anything but the Xbox and doesn't plan on playing anything but the 360? And I also have no problem with gamers who are just all about buying everything they can get their hands on, price be damned. I stand by my criticisms of the 360, but there are certainly positives about it as well which I've conceded, though not that frequently. And certainly snagging Silicon Knight's Too Human was a big coup. But it's time to move on for now. We've made our points.
